the building absolutely reeks of skunk because of the selfish cunt downstairs.
the fucking housing association know about it and are doing fuck all. It is SO strong The HA arent doing anything and im bloody fed up
I dont want to end up reeking of it FFS!

steppemum Tue 11-Dec-18 15:30:46

call police.

steppemum Tue 11-Dec-18 15:31:21

not 999 obviously, but report it.

Every time it smells report it.

userblablabla Tue 11-Dec-18 15:32:06

It they have a pet skunk I think you can get their scent glands removed? Maybe suggest that?

Usernumbers1234 Tue 11-Dec-18 15:34:25

Police unlikely to care and for gods sake don’t phone 999 like some idiot has suggested, the emergency line is not there for that. 101if you want to involve them,

Not sure, but might fall under environmental health for nuisance smells, could try that route if HA aren’t bothered.

Usernumbers1234 Tue 11-Dec-18 15:34:51

Edit Apologies, I’m the idiot.

Op said don’t phone 999!

trulybadlydeeply Tue 11-Dec-18 15:35:47

I think it's now illegal to remove the scent glands, although if it's well socialised it shouldn't happen. Is it an environmental health issue?

HelenaDove Tue 11-Dec-18 15:37:29

Oh God i wouldnt dream of phoning 999 for this. Im just so bloody annoyed. ive never smelt it this strong before.

shumway Tue 11-Dec-18 15:37:49

I thought OP meant drugs not animal.

HelenaDove Tue 11-Dec-18 15:38:25

Thanks Usernumbers I didnt think of that.

userblablabla Tue 11-Dec-18 15:40:15

RSPCA is another option

raspberryTrousers Tue 11-Dec-18 15:41:30

Have you spoken to your neighbours?

Ma15x Tue 11-Dec-18 15:43:05

shumway - I didn't even think of that! OP do you mean drugs or animal?!

Branleuse Tue 11-Dec-18 15:44:01

if it smells that strongly, he is probably growing it

I dont have any issue with people smoking it, or even growing it to some extent for personal use, but in a bloody flat and stinking the whole place out is pretty antisocial. Im not surprised youre pissed off

trulybadlydeeply Tue 11-Dec-18 15:45:33

Oh, I assumed animal, as I know a couple of people who have kept skunks.

Both can be pretty stinky though!

RoboticMary Tue 11-Dec-18 15:48:17

Police are unlikely to do anything. They have their hands full with bigger issues. Not that I don’t agree with you OP, I wouldn’t like it either.

RaymondHolt Tue 11-Dec-18 15:49:41

Email the police - every time.

Copy in the housing association and environmental health - every time.

I called 101 and logged it (in a housing association building). The community Police came one evening knocking on doors and it stopped.

If you know which flat - even better.

RaymondHolt Tue 11-Dec-18 15:50:35

Yes - complain of antisocial behaviour!

HelenaDove Tue 11-Dec-18 15:50:37

raspberry hes not exactly approachchable. He threatened to "come up here" to my DH one time when id been up and down to the toilet in the night Said he could hear me . Strangely the previous neighbour had no complaints in the 19 years he lived underneath us.

easyandy101 Tue 11-Dec-18 15:51:38

My neighbour wrote me a letter and then I started smoking on the balcony

Then upstairs complained so we now go for a walk with it

abacucat Tue 11-Dec-18 15:53:15

Report to police anonymously that you think the man there is growing it and selling it on. Police will come out then.

HelenaDove Tue 11-Dec-18 15:54:15

if it was normal cigarette smoke that wouldnt bother me. the late downstairs neighbour used to smoke (before he gave up) and we couldnt smell that. Its because this shit is so strong.

Russiawithlove Tue 11-Dec-18 15:57:11

The police will not do a thing I'm afraid. It's not illegal to smoke for personal use.
Some of these responses are simply daft.

Just speak to them OP. Just mention how strong it smells.

Screaminginsidemeagain Tue 11-Dec-18 15:57:19

We moved because of our neighbours weed habit. The whole house would smell like dirty tramp and we had to put a bunk bed in the box room for the DC’s because one room was unusable from the smell.
We spoke to him several times and it would calm down for a while and then ramp up again.

Call 101 and log it - say it is so strong and you suspect they are growing it!

Russiawithlove Tue 11-Dec-18 15:58:17

Soon it will be legalised and more and more prevalent. Times are changing.
