AIBU?

AIBU to be over such “bravery”, “honesty” and “rawness”

Pregnancy and birth: Mum Clemmie Telford on candid Instagram images www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-46131215

Now before you start: this is why I don’t go on insta anymore. But this crap on the BBC? Feck off.

Am so fed up of this type of fawning pap - a woman got on the loo looking fed up in her birthday suit 40w gone and gets accolades for “speaking out” about the “honesty of that time”.

AIBU to just not care? AIBU to be fed up of having the cult of middle class motherhood rammed in my chops? Having been there twice before I didn't realise any “awareness” needed to be raised?

It’s just another freaking priveliged Professional Mother telling the rest of us what we already know and how AMAAAAZINGGGGG it is and how EMPOWEREDDD AND SPECIAL we all are.

Go away. Folk have been having and raising children for millennia. Stop packaging it to us like we’re missing out on “the expeeeeerienccccceee”

Racecardriver · 08/11/2018 16:49

Buy it’s quite funny that they describe naked pooing pics as candid. When does one ever ‘candidly’ sit on the toilet stark naked wholesome else is in there with you snappzing pictures?

Surfinbird · 08/11/2018 16:49

Nope I am with you completely on any privileged middle class woman deciding to be the next Face Of Real Motherhood. 🙄🙄🙄

I get awareness should be raised, but fuck me why is it only ever the middle class women who get a toilet shaped podium to stand on.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 08/11/2018 16:54

And where does the line between scatacological tittilation and ART - RAW HONEST ART end?

Am I going mad or have the BBC deleted that story? My link no longer works!

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 08/11/2018 19:47

It worked for me, maybe the bbc blocked you Grin

I agree though.

Caprisunorange · 08/11/2018 19:48

I completely agree OP 🤣 what a load of cack

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 08/11/2018 19:49

Not just instamums I am so over people being 'raw' and 'authentic.' They aren't. It's all for sponsorship or to get more followers. It's so fake.

Caprisunorange · 08/11/2018 19:53

Exactly. Like those of us who don’t post photos of ourselves on the loo are ashamed of our pregnant bodies or something Hmm

Lipstickandlashes · 08/11/2018 19:54

"That look of strength and of tension about what's to come is written all across my face. I thought it was a powerful picture, but I hadn't given it much thought."

Hadn't you, dear? Really? Before filtering and carefully posting this utter, attention seeking bollocks?

OP, YANBU. We have jumped the fucking shark.

gruffalomom · 08/11/2018 19:57

yanbu!! I thought exactly the same when i saw it this morning

Shitonthebloodything · 08/11/2018 19:58

Fucking attention seeking bullshit of the highest order. Noone in the world needs to raise awareness of pregnancy, bore the fuck off with it.
YANBU.

FabulousTomatoes · 08/11/2018 20:00

Totally agree.

Sat there with an all over tan in her swanky bathroom... gosh how tough things must have been for her 🙄

(Only jealous because when I was 40wks pg with dd2 I was living in a building site and hadn’t been on a foreign holiday for about five years!)

”When the image came back, I wasn't sure if I liked it - but I respected it. I don't think you see many pregnancy shots that aren't contrived.”

Not contrived?!?!?! It was taken by a professional photographer.

I have a gazillion pregnancy photos that are “not contrived”. Here’s me 4 months pregnant at a friend’s birthday. Here’s me 6 months pregnant playing some game involving after eights on NYE. Photo of me pointing at the snow in our garden - oooh a big bump! Photo of me by snowman - oooh bump is still big. Photo of me doing a presentation at work - wow I look knackered - wonder if it has anything to do with the massive bump.

rosybell · 08/11/2018 20:22

Baffled as to why she says 'you don't see many pregnancy shots that sent contrived' - that's one of the most contrived pregnancy photos I've seen!

AnyFucker · 08/11/2018 20:26

Woman has a shit. Is pregnant.

This is news?

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 08/11/2018 20:26

I thought that too @rosybell and hoped it wasn’t a dig at those folk who go and do late pregnancy photoshoots and then return a few weeks later with the baby.

Whilst not my cup of tea at all they are usually very important to the parents and normally just for an audience of just them and/or very immediate family only.

Any sane person would understand the world doesn’t care about seeing your stretch marks and chuff when you’re bored and at term.

I don’t even think she was taking a dump, she had her knickers on whilst faking that pose.
Navel gazing bollocks.
