Was it supposed to be self-deprecating humour after that video of her dancing with the schoolkids? Or why?

Yes I think that’s exactly what was meant by it.

Oh. Ok then. I wondered if I'd missed something.

To get everyone talking about her terrible dancing instead of the fact she hasn’t progressed anywhere with Brexit in two years.

Can't bear the woman normally..but I did thing that was quite funny of her.

She had been stupidly mocked for her admittedly wooden dancing. I guess this is her subtle two fingers to that Grin

Painful.

Good on her, at least she can take the piss out of herself.

I think it was quite clever, in ensures that all of the headlines will be about her dancing and not about the content of her speech.

I suspect she has a good sense of humour but isn't comfortable or coordinated enough (like me - I would dance onstage too but would definitely look like a prat)

Clearly it was her scriptwriters who thought it a good idea. As always she looked very uncomfortable. I end up almost feeling sorry for her.

Ah, I have walked onto a stage at a conference before to loud music and then - while standing at the lectern and they clearly couldn't figure out how to switch the bloody music off - ended up nodding, swaying and grinning. Felt kind of natural to do it, when the music is that loud Grin

I quite liked it. It was a two fingers gesture, and rather nice to see someone who can laugh at themselves.

Showing us that she’s human and can laugh at herself?

She needs a few laughs, poor woman. Not only does she have to deal with disloyal Bullingdon club members in her cabinet openly undermining her, she always has to be Captain Sensible who must be seen to be taking the job seriously at all times. I feel sorry for her. I hope she had a good drink afterwards!

letsdolunch I don't think you need to combine the two words...she is a twat and a cunt Grin

Self deprecating humour that will keep public discussion away from policy.

puzzledlady · 03/10/2018 20:18

i thought it was great - good on her for even having the courage to do that - considering who she is. She cant do right by wrong so i suppose she thought - why the fuck not?

When I saw it at first I thought it was mocked up as a rather silly joke.
Glad to know she's feeling light hearted.

Glad to know she's feeling light hearted.

Exactly, when many people are worried sick about what will happen to their livelihood and ability to pay their mortgage when she has finished pratting about with Brexit and looking like the cunt that she is.

OfaFrenchmind2 · 03/10/2018 22:07

Well she could be wearing an hairshirt, tear at her hair and throw dust on her head, but the woman deserves a break. To use your nice terminology, she has cunts everywhere critisizing her every moves and not doing anything to help with an inevitable process...

She looked a right wally.
Austerity is over. Tell that to the mum/dad who can't feed their kids.
The children who can't concentrate in school due to hunger.
The family facing repossession of their home.
ALso if her policies are so great why does she need to put labour down. That's a sign of no confidence.

I can’t dislike her even though I really should

Because she has immature 'advisers' who thought it would be 'hip' or whatever is the 'in' word now. She needs to ignore them and act like the grown -up woman that she is.
