My friend thinks it's unfair on the bridesmaids/bride?

Yep. Don't put her in that. Looks like you're desperate for her to be a bm/flower girl

SweepTheHalls Mon 24-Sep-18 20:37:48

How old is DD? 3, fine, any bigger nope.

CatsGalore Mon 24-Sep-18 20:37:58

YABU totally a bridesmaid dress. Even says it is. Put your child in since pretty normal dress or you will be THAT mother!

Croatoan Mon 24-Sep-18 20:38:29

Nooo. No. Don't. Lots of pretty colourful dresses out there.

happymummy12345 Mon 24-Sep-18 20:38:48

Unless she is a flower girl or bridesmaid then no, don't put her in it

veruka Mon 24-Sep-18 20:39:01

Oh dear. Said DD can wear it (she begged) there's going to be lots of tears. It's completely my fault, I didn't see the issue.

She's 4.

You'll get answers saying it's fine, answers saying it isn't. Listen to the ones saying it isn't. It doesn't matter what your daughter wears provided she doesn't look like a wannabe bridesmaid. That dress advert literally has bridesmaid written all over it. Just pick something else.

Newjobnewstart Mon 24-Sep-18 20:39:06

I wouldn't put my dd in a dress like that for q wedding, loads of gorgeous stuff without getting an actual bridesmaids dress. Are you annoyed she wasn't asked and making a statement?

FuckyDuzz Mon 24-Sep-18 20:39:13

It’s a flower girl dress - if she’s not a flower girl then of course she shouldn’t wear it confused

PiperPublickOccurrences Mon 24-Sep-18 20:39:22

It even says "flower girl" on the description! Steer away from white. Choose something with a pretty pattern.

Tink2007 Mon 24-Sep-18 20:39:36

It says it’s a dress for a flower girl. Choose something different.

cushioncovers Mon 24-Sep-18 20:39:42

Looks like a flower girl dress. I wouldn't

Sparklesocks Mon 24-Sep-18 20:39:56

That’s a flower girl dress, it will confuse people at the wedding. If I saw a little girl at a wedding wearing that I’d assume she was in the bridal party.

Bestseller Mon 24-Sep-18 20:40:07

No don't do it. DD (assuming she's tiny) will be fine but everyone will think you're v odd and there's potential to offend the bride too

veruka Mon 24-Sep-18 20:40:07

We already own the dress, hence I said she could.

ladyme Mon 24-Sep-18 20:40:12

She's 4, it's fine! Most little girls party dresses look like that and little girls like dressing up for weddings. Enjoy it while you can.

Littlechocola Mon 24-Sep-18 20:40:31

Ask the bride. Easy.

Soubriquet Mon 24-Sep-18 20:41:59

That to me is just a party dress. It’s pretty. I wouldn’t have a problem with it

LokiBear Mon 24-Sep-18 20:43:23

Id put a pink cardigan with it. I think its fine. She is 4.

PorkFlute Mon 24-Sep-18 20:43:29

I wouldn’t have a problem with it but I strongly suspect some people would.

Croatoan Mon 24-Sep-18 20:43:44

What about this?

sadnessin Mon 24-Sep-18 20:43:54

Literally says

"Perfect for bridesmaid or flower girl duties" on the description!

PiperPublickOccurrences Mon 24-Sep-18 20:44:08

It's really not fine - it's not a party dress, it's a flower girl dress. If you make it into a treat to go shopping and choosing something new you won't get tears.

TulipsInBloom1 Mon 24-Sep-18 20:44:17

Thats a flower girl dress.
