To find tooting funny

My LO just woke herself and me up with a massive trumpety fart which made me giggle no end. Not the first time I have found her tooting amusing, especially if she is looking otherwise the angelic little baby with her cherubic blonde locks and fluttering eyelashes.

We jokingly say things like ‘that’s not very ladylike!’ which we shouldn’t be gender does not discriminate when it comes to flatus and digestion. And it’s a sign that everything is working as it should!

Less impressed by adult sized boogers or massive nappy presents as you actually have to do something about those and they’re gross, rather than just lying back and laughing.

As for it not being ladylike, wtf? hmm

AsAProfessionalFekko Fri 14-Sep-18 08:35:04

I thought you meant Tooting as in south London.

gggrrrargh Fri 14-Sep-18 08:36:32

I thought it was going to be about cars beeping!

MarthasGinYard Fri 14-Sep-18 08:37:24

Also thought you meant Tooting SW17

borntobequiet Fri 14-Sep-18 08:37:57

I too(ting) thought it was London related.

Appygolucky1234 Fri 14-Sep-18 08:38:01

I was also woken about 5 times in the night by her crying and looking for boob - was not laughing then!

Not funny if my husband does it, just the incongruity of a little baby that I found funny!

marvellousnightforamooncup Fri 14-Sep-18 08:38:32

I though you meant white vans beeping.

FrancisCrawford Fri 14-Sep-18 08:38:49

Thought of cars beeping their horns

Appygolucky1234 Fri 14-Sep-18 08:39:22

I felt stupid putting fart in the title!

re Ladylike- I know, it’s silly isn’t it- but funny how you catch yourself saying things that you know aren’t PC!

Appygolucky1234 Fri 14-Sep-18 08:40:54

White vans beeping not funny especially if overtaking me rapidly from nowhere!!

iklboo Fri 14-Sep-18 08:41:44

I thought you meant this grin

MissusGeneHunt Fri 14-Sep-18 08:44:47

Damn, thought this was going to be a 'funny place name' thread... Pah.

'Twatt' in Orkney is my fave... grin

MissusGeneHunt (47, going on 9)

Appygolucky1234 Fri 14-Sep-18 08:47:01

iklboo- what is that? Freedom for tooting (the place?).

MissisGeneHunt - people in Cockfosters must have lower house prices as a result of silly name, no? Like people who live at no.13 having lower valuations.

iklboo Fri 14-Sep-18 08:51:10

@Appygolucky1234 - showing my age, it's from a 70s tv comedy show called Citizen Smith about a bloke who thought he was a revolutionary communist / Marxist in Tooting (and nobody taking him seriously).

'Wolfie is the self-proclaimed leader of the revolutionary Tooting Popular Front (the TPF, merely a small bunch of his friends), the goals of which are "Power to the People" and "Freedom for Tooting". In reality, he is an unemployed slacker and petty criminal whose plans fail through his apathy, ineptitude and inexperience.'

Feeling ancient nowsad

I remember it like yesterday

Appygolucky1234 Fri 14-Sep-18 08:54:19

iklboo - much YouTubing will be had, sounds quite good smile

borntobequiet Fri 14-Sep-18 08:55:58

Unfortunately many criminally inclined and incompetent slackers are now involved in running the country. Or should I have said ruining the country.

bsbabas Fri 14-Sep-18 08:56:45

Farting is the funniest thing ever fact!

Appygolucky1234 Fri 14-Sep-18 08:59:37

Looks like that show is all on YouTube if anyone wants to revisit! It’s the man from ‘My family’ (as I know him!).

BlackAmericanoNoSugar Fri 14-Sep-18 09:01:14

I thought Citizen Smith was hilarious, mind you I was in primary school at the time so possibly I wouldn't find it that funny now. The same is probably true for all the 70s comedies, the humour would probably seem either banal or unsavoury now.

Appygolucky1234 Fri 14-Sep-18 09:02:08

@bsbabas I sense sarcasm but no bother!

I have obviously fallen down the well of ‘everything my LO does is amazing/amusing’ down to her, erm, emissions! grin

iklboo Fri 14-Sep-18 09:02:49

Yes I was in primary school too and had a bit of a crush on Robert Lindsay blush
