Because that married man is POTUS and the world is interested in him and his integrity.

Really? Hmm

I'd like to think it is because a lot of people are hoping it will bring about the downfall of a sleazy politician. In reality it's because salacious sex scandals sell newspapers.

Because the man in question is the POTUS, and he deserves to have his dirty laundry aired for all to see. As that is what he signed up for.

... and because that married man - not as though that means much given the record of the individual in question - may or may not have been directly involved in trying to buy her silence and threatening her. I.e. behaving like a mobster.

Which is kind of a big deal if you happen to be in possession of the nuclear codes.

Is that you Donald?

Because a married man who knowingly had sex with a Porn Star is the "leader of the free world"

It's the married man at fault, not the woman. She didn't make the marital vows that were broken. If anyone's not going to be given air time as a result...well, it should be him.

I don't think the prom star who has sex with the POTUS is the problem here.

Report
shoofly · 20/08/2018 13:37

Because you appear to be making judgement values about her choice of career? Because surely he should be concerned about his marriage vows rather than her? Because he implies he is of more "value" than her because she is a porn star. Because he is the one telling lies?

Prizes for daftest thread ever.

Because it shows up the POTUS for the type of man he really is? Especially with all the lying about it.

Can you really not see why that's important?

She is a very credible witness. Trump has tried and tried to discredit her and has got nowhere. That's why she should have airtime.

Sorry I meant who CLAIMS to have had sex with a married man.

I am sure she has not been the only one IF these claims are true. Similarly to lots of former POTUSs.

Why is such a meal being made out of it?

They could have a least rolled one out that had a small bit of credibility, no?

Why is such a meal being made out of it?

Because it's the POTUS, FFS.

Eh?

If you're talking about Stephanie Clifford, aka Stormy Daniels, this isn't just about whether a married man committed adultery when his wife had just given birth.

It's the fact that just before the election Trump paid Clifford a large amount of money to stop the (quite old) story becoming public, in case it influenced voters' choice of him. So this was election spending. It appears to be an illegal campaign contribution and appears he broke the law in order to influence the election.

NB Ever chivalrous, first Trump denied paying Clifford, and tried to dump the blame on his now-ex lawyer, Michael Cohen. Then some documentation was revealed and he admitted it.

Damn right I judge her on her choice of 'career'.

Whys that then? Does she not have the right to follow whatever career she likes?

Look Melania, ring Ivanka and get her lawyer’s number and get he fuck out, love.

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 20/08/2018 13:48

Yes, as others have noted it’s because a) he is the POTUS and dares to question the integrity and morality of others and b) he seemingly paid her off to influence the election which is illegal.

Frosty6611 · 20/08/2018 13:48

Why do you judge her on her choice of career?!

I'm sure she'll be gutted.

As long as we can all judge you on your choice of first thread to start, that's fine.

You want to roll out more women who've been paid hush money for affairs with Trump?

Like Karen McDougall? She's the woman Cohen taped Trump talking about.

Excellent so you are far more concerned with her career choice than the fact that POTUS lied , bribed and manipulated at the same time as manipulating a family values based nostalgia driven voting base? That's your issue...?

That her choice of how to have sex is more important than a powerful world leader is a lying and corrupt abuser?

Excellent...your opinion has so very much validity ...as you were

I wonder is there some poor whitehouse staffer typing away, charged with the impossible job of “see can you turn Mumsnet round to DT.”

Oh the futility.

Easy - because people want to hear and read about it and it sells.
