AIBU?

Or are Audi drivers all morons?

6 week's holiday with DC and doing a lot more driving at all times of day and evening.

It's got to be 90% of the time, when there is a car up my arse, itching to take over, doing a lot more than speed limit, undertaking on motorway (when I'm at limit), not giving way etc it is mostly always an Audi!!

Why is this? Is it just me? Do you know any nice, decent people who drive Audi's? Are they all failed Nicky Lauder's? It's annoying me now. AIBU?

Yes
I drive an Audi A6, and I would say that I'm a nice person.

I've actually experienced this, but with a 50-50 split of Audi and BMW drivers.

You're completely unreasonable, everyone knows the problem road users are BMW drivers and cyclists

BMW's, Audi's, vans of any sort, lorries over taking each other, plastic crotch rocket motorbikes and cyclists.

All joy thief's of driving. But, TBF, it's not the vehicles, it's the fuckwits driving them. I'm all in favour of far more speed cameras, especially in motorways, average speed cameras between every bridge, that'll slow the twats down.

I drive an Audi A4 and wouldn't dream of being up that close!

I wondered how long it would take for the BMW bashers to contribute!

I drive an A3 (just recently changed from a mini as I needed boot space) and I always leave a full car length in front of me as braking distance. It's lots of other makes that push into that space making me have to drop back.

I used to drive Audi’s and I’m nice. People, well men usually, didn’t seem to like the idea of a woman driving a sports car and made it their mission in life to get away from traffic lights in front of me.

BMW drivers though, now they’re a different breed altogether. The worst examples of crap driving I’ve seen have come from them, including shooting red lights, several times.

Definitely BMWs too.

@Reptilemummy - maybe if y'all didn't drive like your driving license came out of a cornflake box you wouldn't get the grief!

@biddypop.

That’s tongue in cheek surely. A car length with the recommended 2 seconds/distance would mean you’re almost supersonic?

We used to have Audi’s and my Dh was a sensible considerate driver, not a wanker.

YANBU. Audi drivers are the absolute pits. Just buying an Audi makes you a twat, even if you don’t drive it like one.

To be fair though, every time I see a woman in white Land Rover Evoque Come the opposite direction on a country lane my heart sinks a little.

biddypop unless you’re driving at 10mph, you need a much bigger gap then a car length! On a normal road, that short of a distance is tailgating and dangerous.

Luglio oh give over , talk about tarring everyone with the same brush Hmm.

You know that's too close right?
Even at 20mph you should leave 2 car lengths.. at 70mph you should be leaving 24 car lengths.

Yes people will say,
"Oh but modern brakes are better now so don't need as much space..."
Bullshit.. it's not the brakes that's the issue, it's the reaction time of the person driving.
A perfectly healthy and alert young driver still needs at least 8 car lengths just to react to what's ahead...

So anyone closer than that on a Motorway is putting themselves and those ahead at risk.

The two second gap is quite boggling when you see it written down

I have a Q7 ... I don't think I'm a moron ... Blush
I have a big car for the space with children and I'd never drive stupid with such precious passengers.

Some people do drive like utter arseholes though.

OP there are a lot more Audis on the road due to the discounts they have been doing in the past few years hence you can perceive it as all Audi drivers annoying you.

Likewise with BMW drivers they aren't all wankers.

BTW If drivers are undertaking you then you are in the wrong lane, not being observant by looking in your rear view mirror enough and should have moved over long before they came near you.

Unfortunately as a general rule they are twats. This is unfortunate for the unsuspecting few who are nice people and buy an audi unaware the rest of the population will assume they are the same as all the others.
It is the car of choice of many drug dealers and criminals...

Audi stands for arsehole usually driving it.
