AIBU?

Amazon Prime next day delivery is false advertising.

So Amazon Prime, that I pay a reasonable amount of membership for each month, is no longer next day delivery?

I have noticed over the last month that their Prime next day delivery is actually taking two days.
So if I order today I won’t get my items until Monday now.

I don’t mind the waiting two days, that’s still a good delivery time BUT what I do mind is I’m paying the membership due to wanting next day delivery.

I am a bit pissed off that basically it’s false advertising on their part. They push Prime membership being next day delivery on Prime items which TBH is the main draw of Paying the membership!

It’s also the bloody sneaky way they are stopping the next day. After doing a quick google it seems they have slowly been offering next day to less and less customers rather than put out a statement explaining they are no longer offering the next day but are offering x,y,z.

So AIBU and it’s not a big deal, just suck it up and think yourself lucky you get two days delivery time,
Or be a bit miffed they charge £10 per month with one of the biggest makerting points being next day delivery and email them showing my distaste Grin

Yep bugs me too!

Yeah I’m cancelling it for the same reason.

More and more items aren’t available next day (even if you order before the cut off point) so paying a premium seems fruitless!

I don't know if I've just been lucky but I've had no problems at all with next day delivery. Only times it's taken til the following day is if I order late evening and have missed the cut off

Funnily enough I was talking to someone about this very subject this week!
And then my husband ordered something not on prime on Wednesday and it was delivered yesterday.
I think the only reason we still keep it is for the tv now.

I’ve noticed this too. Even if I’m shopping in the morning, Prime items will vary from things I can get tomorrow, to things that’ll take 2-3 days. In my mind, the latter shouldn’t be listed as Prime if they can’t actually deliver it next day.

I think it’s to do with third party sellers who are kind of ruining the site.

Yea I too have noticed a delay in next day delivery items Angry
Not sure what benefit Amazon prime is anymore as the films are always crap!!

Yep, it's annoying fortunately I am only paying student membership price and use prime video and music but I initially took out membership for next day delivery. Apparently next day delivery is next day after dispatch (and they don't specify same day dispatch) can't remember where I read that but that's how they get around calling it next day dispatch Angry.

Another thing I’ve noticed is things show as one delivery date, then about 30 minutes after you check out, the tracking changes and shows a later date.

I’ve started taking screenshots post checkout

Yes your not alone Its rubbish I've cancelled and I've told everyone I know to cancel.

Yes, this is why I stopped it too. I've found Ebay to be mostly cheaper and roughly same delivery times (excluding stuff from China!)

You can pay for the tv separately, though I don't find much to watch. We liked Preacher, paid for one month, binge watched it and then cancelled.

I've noticed this too. Will cancel mine.

Well hopefully we may get some more comments about how sneaky and unreasonable Amazon are best my so I can tweet them a link to the thread!

It doesn’t look good that people are cancelling their subscription!
Maybe if they had been upfront about it and offered something else to make Prime membership worth while to those paying the membership predominantly due to the next day delivery then people wouldn’t feel so miffed!

I might just have been lucky but I've rarely had problems. I can't get lots of stuff same day delivery too. If it's a postcode lottery though that's not much good! I would be annoyed too in your shoes.

Several of my orders have taken 3+ days!

Next day is basically not available in my area and I probably will cancel. I repeatedly have it showing as “delivering today” until 9pm when it switches to the apology and we’ll try to deliver again tomorrow. I wouldn’t care as much if I at least knew a little sooner! By 9 it’s too late to get whatever I was after elsewhere.

Even without prime, I've found their delivery has got slower and slower. Free delivery used to say 3-5 business days and would usually arrive in 2-3. Now it's usually 4-5. Can't help but wonder if they've delayed things to encourage people to pay for prime..

Same here. If I order something 'prime' it's currently taking 4 to 5 days to arrive and at least 2 to 3 to even be dispatched whereas it used to be very reliable for next day delivery.

Could it be your location? In my area in London I still get next day delivery (same day too!), the only time next day delivery wasn’t available was just before a bank holiday

Amazon’s own saver delivery option is just their regular next day delivery with a much longer dispatch time isn’t it?

We order tons through amazon and not had any issues. Always get next day delivery. What annoys me is when they tell me delivery Monday on a Friday and then try to deliver Saturday! My work address is marked as weekdays only and they still attempt it 🙄

I can imagine being pissed off if you aren’t getting what you’re paying for though!

I suspect it’s very area dependent. I buy basically everything on bloody amazon and it used to be so good.

Cancelled Prime here too for the same reason. I think Amazon might have rested on its laurels for too long and perhaps people are going to start voting with their feet...

Amazon are utter shits of a company. Stop using them altogether. They don't sell anything that you can't buy elsewhere and just as cheaply.
