Lighthearted

It's hot, really hot and the bedroom ceiling fan is broken.
Dh is snoring like a demented tractor and no amount of gentle nudging to get him to turn over is working.
The house over the road is still celebrating from the football earlier, celebration has spilled over from the back garden into the street and there is loud singing happening. I'm all for a celebration, I don't even like football but it's all good fun, just loud and late.

It's becoming obvious I'm not going to get any sleep.

How U would it be to pop in the car and book into the travel lodge??

Why are you not posting this from a comfy air conditioned room already?
Remember to set the alarm for nice and early before you leave Grin

That is living the dream... if you can actually do that... bloody go for it!! and get late check out! I wish I had the money to check into the travel lodge every now and again... I might actually start saving in an account just for 'random travelodge stays on my own' so that in the future I can at will....

I really don't, I'm afraid it's just wishful thinking unless it goes on the CC. That's the only thing stopping me.
I've decamped to the living room so the singing is louder but the snoring is just a rumble now.
Dogs think it's a game though and keep pinching my pillow :(

Nytol make a snoring spray that actually works! You could make your DH sit up and fan you all night, solving the snoring and the overheating Grin

I hate travelodges, have stayed in a few and they were pretty much as you’ve described things at home; rowdy patrons and shit soundproofing meaning you can hear next door’s snoring. I’ve never managed to sleep a wink whenever I’ve stayed in one and don’t get me started on the time we got a family room and my friend on the sofa bed went to bed a little worse for wear and woke up to find a pair of knickers in the bed that were most definitely not hers. Not worth the spend on the credit card.
Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight.

Lol @BigGrannyPants I like that idea, not sure he'd go for it.
Bless him it's not his fault, it's worse with hay fever, he'd be gutted if he thought he was keeping me awake (big softy)

I'll have a look for that spray tomorrow thanks for the tip!

Partners who snore should have a levy put on them. Proceeds go to their poor bed partners. You can choose to save it up for a glamorous hotel, or a fortnightly motel.

Or collect all the levy, build Japanese style Sleep Pods throughout the land. All partners given special entry key fobs.

OP, you’re kinder than me, I’d be putting the spray up the nearest orifice I could reach.

Update: the football party is ongoing but is getting quieter, there was some shouting and by the sounds of it cross words....I think a few have left. The dogs have curled up at the bottom of the sofa and are snoozing.
I'm going to watch the last season of OITNB and enjoy the cool air from the fan in the living room, I suppose there are worse thing...just wish I didn't have to be up in 5 hours :/ :/

Thank you all for keeping me company!
