I mean, the amount of paedo's that groom what they think are children online and then get confronted by vigilante groups who show up is getting bigger.


This was triggered by the home office consultant who got caught today in a vigilante sting.

When will they learn??????

The ones that get caught are the stupid ones. The intelligent ones will be the ones not getting caught. Which is a terrifying thought.

I went in some training and they reckon most adults with a normal work/social circle know at least one active paedophile.

Well the one I know about was charming and plausible. And has not been caught. Because I can't trace him or prove anything.

I think LadyRussell means that most adults will know someone who is secretely an active paedophile. (they know them, but don't know they are a paedo) If that makes sense. Coz if you did know, you'd report it wouldn't you

I too in my line of work have lots to do with child safeguarding - most people think paedophiles dont live in "naice" areas, that if you live in an affluent middle class area that your child wont ever be in a near distance to a paedophile .

They are so very wrong - many people live in a bubble. If they knew what i knew they would be horrified .

Crikey paedophiles aren’t a particular category of people.... they cross all class and wealth divides. But having worked in child protection I would caution you to stop obsessing about predatory strangers and take on board the fact that most offending happens in families.

Ethyl what on earth is weird about training that covers paedophiles? I'm a Psychiatric nurse and have done quite a few child protection courses that cover this.
