sneezing at work

NC for this

I got told off for sneezing too much at work. Apparently, it is unhygienic (although I cover my mouth), I need to 'bag it, bin it' etc, it's too loud and disruptive, I do it too often.

it's a small office but open plan. I'm the youngest.

I get v bad hayfever, and I had a chest infection last year.

I feel very upset and embarrassed now.

AIBU?

That's upsetting.

Would or have others beeen told off for coughing? It's the same thing, although as yours is hayfever it's not infectious so much better really.

I guess you are taking some kind of antihistamine to help you? If not why not book a Dr's appointment at an inconvenient time (for the office) and see if they have any advice.

You now have a retort if they criticise you.

Don't be embarassed, it's totally natural.

Are you sneezing into the air or hands? Because if so I can see why they would get fed up of it...they are being unreasonable if you are sending into a tissue

Have you tried taking something to reduce the sneezing?..no offence but if I had to listen to someone sneeze all day and the sound of blowing nose and snot, my stomach would eventually start to turn...

Madness! So long as your hygiene is good when you do sneeze I am not sure what else you can do.

I do take antihistamines. I have hand sanitizer on my desk and I use paper hankies (or get some toilet paper if I run out)
