That’s it really!

I’m not a football fan. There are alot of other sports I’m not a fan of either but it’s football that annoys me the most.... it’s just rammed down our throats more than any other sport and it pissing me off atm that I can even listen to my regular radio station without someone constantly going on about it!

I love it.

I do know what you mean though as I feel the same about Wimbledon.

It's the World Cup. But it's only every 4 years so not that bad.

FOOTBALL!

I’ve not heard much about it this year (although I do enjoy watching some of the games).
Agree about Wimbledon though. I feel like that is rammed down my throat and I have no interest in tennis whatsoever.

The World Cup is once every 4 years and lasts 4 weeks or so.
So if you realy can’t bear it turn the radio off and put a cd on instead knowing it will soon be over.

I love it too and Wimbledon.

There’s loads of crap I hear endlessly about in tv- love island and Trump to name two this week I’ve had enough of.

Urgh yes, I’ve heard far more about the absolute shite that is Love Island than the World Cup over the past few weeks.

I don’t care if it’s the world cup, The downhill mnt biking world cup was on last week too. But the info about that is kept to the right outlet.... redbull.
I don’t want to hear radio djs go on and on about football.... keep it to the correct slots like the sports news

I agree that I have heard loads more about Love Island than the football.

It's all easily avoided though if you press the right buttons on the TV/radio.

My point is, is that I shouldn’t have to listen to endless talk of the world cup when it should be variety.

No you’re right you shouldn’t. And I shouldn’t have to listen to endless talk about Love Island.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 16/06/2018 21:11

Why? Lots of people are interested so will obviously talk about it. Turn over or off I’d you don’t like it. By July 15 it will all be over for 4 whole years! Not much to ask is it?

That was only the leg in Scotland, and if Downhill was bringing in the TV revenue or as popular as football was then they would limit condense their world cup into 1 month instead of 7 and it would be broadcast across the world.

Been some good games today though, and roll on monday !!

It would be better if tv schedules weren't ruined for it. A few highlights or something maybe but match after match droning on for weeks? Surely people who are interested will have a sports channel to watch it on.

It's only every 4 years, I'd rather watch football then lame ass reality tv any day.

Guessing you didn’t watch the Spain v Portugal match last night, then you might get some of the excitement Grin Worlds cups great and it’s only once every 4 years! Can’t wait for Monday, it’s coming home, it’s coming home...Grin

I love it, even though Wales aren’t there. And as others have said, I’ve heard more about flippin Love Island (have managed to avoid it so far, though!!)

Isnt part of the appeal of radio DJs their personality? If they like football thats part of it. You wouldn't hear so much about it if so many werent interested. ITV and BBC bid a lot of money for the rights and I think it would be a shame if it went to Sky sports meaning a lot wouldnt be able to watch it.

Well, if you hate it, you hate it, but the World Cup is only once every 4 years, unlike Wimbledon say (and keep in mind tennis as a whole has FAR fewer fans than football) which is on every year.

I do hear you though about your radio stations continually referring to something you aren't interested in. It gets really irritating when the djs start going on about Love Island, or X-factor or what happened on Coronation St or anyo other "popular" programmes, assuming that everybody watches and is interesting.

Report
SoyDora · 17/06/2018 07:31

Argh yes the annual x-factor and BGT borefests that you can’t seem to get away from... That’s annoying.

Report
ForalltheSaints · 17/06/2018 08:14

You do not have to like football, and there are other tv channels and other activities you can do to avoid it. As for the comparison with X Factor and BGT, perhaps unfair as they are about three months each in total, thoughts only on ITV easy to avoid.
