I had been looking forward to it all day but DP ate mine. I had bought 2 , one for us each. DP had theirs Sunday night and scoffed mine last night before I had got home and cooked us dinner!

I think I overreacted (telling them not to bother apologising as its clearly empy words given that this isn't the first time it's happened) and now I feel bad.

I don't ask for much after a long hard day!!

Anyone else's partner a greedy, selfish bastard?

I know you're being lighthearted but I'd actually see that as quite disrespectful. I have two adult children and if I had something in the fridge and they fancied it they would always come and ask first, they wouldn't just take it (and if I said no I'm saving it, they'd be fine with that). Its common courtesy. I wouldn't have been cooking his dinner for him that night if it were me!

See I agree with PPs that this is actually basic disrespect! Your DP is happy to have two of something while you get none, assumably knowing that you had bought one for each of you. Their wants seem to be more important than yours and I would be really irritated by this.

I was having hand surgery a few years back and stocked up on some one handed easy micro meals for when I was home alone.
All eaten by DP.
I had major surgery, at the pre op I was given two high energy drinks for early on the morning of my op. Went to fridge, one was gone. DP said he didn't know they were mine (what sort of logic would make him think they were his?), drank one but it was disgusting so left the other.
When I came out of hospital (double mastectomy and reconstruction) he kicked off because I asked him to leave me a sandwich and flask of tea (I couldn't go in the kitchen as my dogs would have been all over me and I was worried they'd catch my scars). I got the fruit bowl and a glass of water plonked next to me.
At Christmas when I had family coming I bought a huge quiche and said that would do for Christmas Eve, when I got it out of the fridge he'd eaten half. At that point I had to lock myself in the loo and cry!
