To tell DH he is pronouncing DD’s name wrong.

DD is mainly known as a shortening of her name. Occasionally we call her the full versio. However I have noticed DH pronounces it in a different way to how I have ever heard it pronounced. I assumed there was just one pronunciation of it. I’m wondering if it would be reasonable to point it out? Or do I just live with it.

I think this is perhaps one of those seemingly rare occasions that warrants a conversation with your DH.....

I think it's fairly obvious that you need to point out that he's pronouncing it wrong. She can't have her own dad mispronouncing her name, that's mad. Unless it's something a bit contentious and you could be pronouncing it wrong.

Do you come from different regions, so it's an accent thing? And are you absolutely sure it's not an accepted alternative pronunciation?

We have neighbours who pronounce their daughter's full name slightly different to each other. They seem to just get on with it.

My dh does this.
We have a son called William.

I pronounce it will-e-am, he pronounces it will-yam. Drives me nuts and I’ve correcte him, but it’s just the way he says it.

It's not unusual to say Will-yam. More like Wilhelm. Will - ee-am is less usual.

My DF went through a weird phase of mispronouncing my full name. Imagine I was Alice and he would say 'Aless'. Then he just stopped doing it. No idea why.
