AIBU?

To be fed up of Bardot tops

AIBU to be completely fed up with Bardot tops. It seems like the only nice tops are Bardot tops in shops at the minute and the number of Bardot tops out numbers other tops Massively. I don’t really like strapless bras (on me) and am breastfeeding so these tops just aren’t practical. I desperately want this trend to be over 😫

I agree. And cold shoulder or whatever they're called.

Yes to cold shoulder tops! They look awful.

Yep! Hate them and cold shoulder ones. Unless I’m somewhere VERY hot I hate having my arms/shoulders uncovered.

Am stifling laughter here. The ad just under Charley’s “I hate cold shouldee tops” has a large pic of a woman in a bardot/off the shoulder top. Grin

Cold shoulder tops are utterly rancid, nobody looks good in them.

I just want to pull cold shoulder tops up! They look like they’ve slipped down.

Just been looking at the Aldi specials & they have “ Mini Me” navy & white striped Bardot tops. £5.99 for ladies’ & £2.99 for kids’. Very tempted for our holiday ☀️

Ih yes me too OP.
I bought one last year for holiday thinking it'd be nice. The sodding thing slides up every time I move my arms so I end up with an inadvertent wonky cowl thing that looks like a pile of shite.

And cold shoulder tops are rank, I've refused to buy even one of them. It's either warm enough for all of my arms out or it isn't.

I don't mind a Bardot top for holidays. Can't get on with cold shoulder tops. If it's cool enough for sleeves, I don't want big holes in the shoulders. If it's warm enough to get my shoulders out, I don't need to cover my arms up.

I usd to love them before they were fashionable, and would scour the shops for them! Now they’re everywhere, and while I still like them they have lost what I used to think was their unique elegance 😭. Also they’re a bugger to wear under jackets and I hate strapless bras!

Yanbu. See also: fecking spaghetti straps. And dresses which look lovely and then you realise the back has got a whacking great hole in it.

Hate them. Never found a strapless bar that fits in a 36F. Don’t get me started on cold bloody shoulder

freezer I totally agree with you re: backless fucking dresses. Everytime I see something I like the look of on asos it turns out to be backless. I have tits. I like to wear a bra. Aaaaaarrrrrrggghhhh

I don’t mind a Bardot top, although they’ve been around for a long time now and I personally think they should be over.

Cold shoulder tops would be in my room 101 I think. They look so cheap.

Do you think Bardot tops look OK on skinny people who aren't as young as they were and are self conscious about their scraggy old necks? I still love them but just don't dare this year.

I love Bardot tops. I bought strapless bras just for them!

Cold shoulder can look really good, but not the way it's being done right now. A loose flowing sleeve on a cold shoulder top looks ridiculous, like the dress has half fallen down, plus it batwings your boobs and makes you look enormous and shapeless if you're busty. If it's fitted and stretchy, cut out shoulders can look beautiful.

I had to google 'cold shoulder tops'. Who the fuck comes up with these names?
Also, they are horrid.

Bardot type tops were great when I was about 17, skinny and had small boobs. Now I'm 46, fat and wear GG cups and can't get on with strapless bras, so they're totally unsuitable. Also hate the cold shoulder crap, I hate the tops of my arms, I dont want them on show. There's hardly anything else in the shops at the moment, it's horrible.

Ahh thank god I’m not the only one. Yeah I hate it when you find a nice dress and it has no back

I hate them too. Ever since my early teens I've had awful, deep stretch marks on my shoulders which I find incredibly embarrassing. I don't mind a normal vest top which I can slip a light cover up over but it would look ridiculous with these cold shoulder tops.

I don’t mind Bardot tops but since they are all that’s available, every outfit just looks the same and wardrobe lacks variety. I did think they’d be less popular by now. Don’t like cold shoulder, they only look good on those with very toned arms

I love Bardot tops and have a few Grin

I am pretty small boob wise (32B/C) so maybe that makes a difference? They look lovely with skinny jeans and a tan

Oh thank you thank you thank you for this post!! I thought it was just me. I hate "cold shoulder" tops with a passion!! Not that I knew that's what they're called...but they just look awful on everyone except maybe if you have tanned and slim, toned arms - but really, just no, no and no.
