To feel cheated by this awful company?

I ordered a dress from a website called HEBEOS.CO.UK. The dress cost £100 plus £20 p&p ( hmm) which I assumed was because it is an evening dress.

When the dress arrived it looked absolutely nothing like the picture online. It's ugly, badly sewn and there are bits of stitching coming away. It is not fit for purpose and horrible. Even the colour is different.

Stupid me - I did not realise they are based in China and there is no name , no phone number / address so no way of speaking to anyone about this. I have emailed the company about 10 times but they refuse to engage with me, except to offer me a 15% refund. I have explained this is unacceptable and I have also alerted my credit card company.

If I could do links to websites I would show you the photos I have taken of it so you can see for yourself how vastly different it is from the web pics. I am kicking myself.

AIBU to hope my credit card provider can get me my hard earned money back? or is it a lost cause ? Sad

Not sure about your chances but OP, in future, when buying from any site that's not a known site....look at their social media.

ALL good sites have Facebook and Twitter and maybe Instagram too.

They will have their reviews openly displayed.

I just checked Hebeos' Facebook and despite having almost 400,000 likes or follows, their posts have only got about 2 visible comments as a rule.

That's because they filter out all the negatives immediately. And there are no reviews either.

Very nearly just ordered a wedding dress from Hebeos; had my credit card details entered up to the 3 digit security code.

Glad I decided to check out reviews of this company at the last minute and save myself a load of hassle.

The dress was beautiful but some things really are too good to be true Sad

Glad I saved you from an ordeal Smelly - wish I'd saved myself!

I paid via cc directly ; the matter is now in the hands of my cc company. Hope I get a refund.

They are awful.
