I need some advice on what to do, ive got this 10 week old kitten when i first got her she was only 8 weeks old and she was quite quiet but now she keeps attacking my 15 month old daughter for no reason whilst shes in her highchair, the baby doesnt bother the cat at all and she just keeps going for her shes bitten her twice already

Kitten wants to play. Does it have toys?

Is this your 1st cat op?

It's pretty normal for them to pounce and "play fight". in a few months The cat will most likely hide and run away at sight of a toddler

But I get your point scratches are not nice, maybe get a scratching post?

yeah she has quite a few toys to play with and i have a scratching post for her and she still seems to go for my daughter

Because shes a little person like her so thinks its sparring, how they would with their siblings. Give kitten lots soothing cuddles and perhaps keep separate for awhile.. the kitten will calm down after awhile

Is this the one your sister left at yours and that your dd keeps being rough with?

I thought you were going to rehome the kitten while it was still young?

It wants to play; ideally with another kitten. Would it be possible to get amother one?

OP didn’t you post the other day asking if you would BU to get rid of the kitten? If so, is this an attempt to get people to validate the decision you’ve already made?

Perhaps the poor creature is stressed. Have you tried Feliway diffusers to calm her down? I’ve known many cats in my life and have yet to come across one that launches itself at and bites children who are not provoking them for no reason.

my little girl is scared of her, i dont want to rehome her because she can be a lovely kitten and i think she does get jealous of the baby because most my attention is on her

She wants to play. You need to tire her out by playing with her lots yourself, so she doesn't go to your daughter for attention.

Keep a close eye on any bites in case of infection - a cat's mouth is full of bacteria.

No offence but why did you get a kitten? You would have been much better off getting a fully grown chilled family cat.

Or at the very least a "kitten" of say 9 months.

Sorry it just annoys me when people get kittens and babies and then are freaked out that they're erratic/unpredictable. They're babies. Its a bit like saying "hey i had my baby but its shitting everywhere and crying all the time".

@minixox
I meant your friends cat having kittens. So what? Why does that mean you automatically get a kitten?

There's someone else out there with a 10 week old kitten that they got at 8 weeks who has a 15 month old that the cat attacks posting on MN about their situation then.

Maybe try and find that person and get advice from them about what they did.
