Anyone else listening to radio two? I'm not the mortally offended type but I'm pretty astounded at what I've heard

Vaping is grim.
Some dog owners are offensive.
A mother breastfeeding her child. How on earth is that offensive? Confused

Don't forget flip flop wearers.

I'm easily offended by radio phone-in shows (assuming it was a phone-in show: they never do anything to raise my opinion of those with access to phones...)

Yeh, it was Jeremy vyne. One of his guests. She said that vapers need to be considerate and not just do what they want,.where they want. They need to consider other people as do people who breastfeed, as do dog owners.

So bizarre.

I'd only just started getting comfortable with bf in public too

Well I’m guilty of all those things (not all at the same time!)How offensive I must be!

Well as long as nobody can trip over your boobs whilst you're breastfeeding I would say you are being totally considerate.
I hate the sickly sweet smells of vaping.
I hate dog owners who use an extending lead along busy roads and have no control or who let their dogs bounce all over strangers.
BF really isn't the same. Confused

She sounds like a fucking idiot. There will always be people who don’t like it whatever you do because they are miserable busybodies.

Only time I got funny looks BF was Actually at one of those pubs with a soft play inside it (kid friendly, hey!). Anyone who doesn’t like it are either thick or horrible. Are you really bothered what they think?

I can’t see how vaping could be that offensive to anyone. It doesn’t even smell!?

I agree with vaping and dogs off lead or on those infernal extendable leads who come and bother you (or other dogs).

Don't know where the BF comes from though.

At the moment the thing that offends me most is people walking very very slowly because they have their faces stuck to their mobile phone screens. AAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!

The thing is, people who care enough about random stuff to phone a radio show are often fairly angry people, so they probably don't approve of anyone who doesn't do exactly what they do. And even that's a stretch.

Vaping absolutely smells. And why would you want a cloud of steam in your face?

Vaping does smell. Often, it seems, it smells of marshmallows or strawberries. Obviously, that's deeply offensive.

If vaping is bad because of ‘sickly sweet smells’, then people should also stop eating and drinking in public in case the smell offends anyone else.

Vaping stinks! At least all the people I've encountered leave clouds of sickly sweet vapour.
Feeding a baby really isn't offensive or anti social. Why should you be considerate? Ok maybe don't stop to feed in the middle of the road. Really struggling to imagine what "inconsiderate" BF looks like. Hmm

Vaping uses good grade liquid to create vapour. Are people offended by the smell of sweets?

In desperation I've breastfed while walking around the supermarket. Noone could see anything and he was only a tiny newborn at the time. I figure that breastfeeding in public is pretty considerate because the alternative is a screaming baby Grin

People confuse 'offended' with 'don't like'.

I completely agree.

Incredibly rude.

I have asthma. I don't want to walk through clouds of sickly stinking vapour. I can't smell if you suck a sweet. It's not the same at all.

I think vapers just look daft. I'm not offended by it however. I just roll my eyes and think how silly they look.
The word offended is overused imo.

Yes, people need to consider others in public places. Smoking or vaping around others in a space where they can't walk away (e.g. while seated outside a cafe) is inconsiderate. So is having an uncontrolled dog off the lead and not picking up poop. And so is not attempting to be discreet while breastfeeding. I breastfeed in public but I seat myself in a quiet corner and expose only what I need to, then cover up as soon as the baby is finished. But I've seen women breastfeed then the baby lets go and she just sits there with a bare boob casually hanging out for ten minutes. Totally unnecessary and inconsiderate.

I have literally never seen this in my entire life.

Thing is, all those things are perfectly legal, in public. So those that are 'offended' can just shuffle off somewhere else.

I find racists and bullies offensive but the streets appear to be lined with them. Some of them are breastfeeding, vaping and walking dogs as well.

But as Murane say, surely the worst people are those sitting around with their tits hanging out for ten minutes. Provocative fuckers.

Me neither Kokeshi. Never.
Too bloody cold in the UK for a start.

Jeremy Vine has some fabulously strange people phoning in to his show though. I often tune in out of curiosity! Grin

How does one tell if one is a dog owner when they are in public?
