Today on a school trip to the sea life centre I found myself welling up at some enormous lobsters - I looked into their eyes and they looked so intelligent. The kids thought I was mental Grin

Aibu to ask what bonkers things have made you cry of late?

The face of one of my form when I told them I was leaving. Dear lord, he couldn’t have gone any whiter. I’m his ‘safe’ person, he has serious anxiety. Sorry, not too light hearted.

The cavity wall being replaced. Who knew it would be so bloody messy. Spoiled my planned afternoon in the sun

I had a full on meltdown in a car park today because there was a hornet in my car. I’ve never seen one before and thought it was a wasp on steroids. To be fair, I’m 33 weeks pregnant and v hormonal and I convinced myself I was going to die. A nice lady came and helped me but everyone must have thought I was insane Grin

Not light-hearted but had to leave my ten month old for his first full day at nursery. He was sobbing and reaching out for me but I had to go as was late for the train. All day I kept picturing his little face as I left and bursting into tears. Left uni early and went to get him at 3 because I couldn’t bear it any longer. Now up going through the lectures I missed, periodically getting sniffly at the thought of leaving him again tomorrow Sad.

We have a really old Cd, an album of kids songs that i had when I was little and now love to play for the kids. Got songs on like 'Right said Fred', the original Robin Hood, and 'A Mouse Lived in a Windmill." And "Two little boys" which Dd loves. I know it's Rolf Harris, but she doesn't.
No I found myself tearing up listening to it on the school run today, as she was singing along. "But I think it's that I remember, when we were two little boys".

The last two days of my period make me very down. I had to hold back tears over the most stupid things today including dropping a biro. I have been super stressed over the last few days so I think it is adding to it.

We got my adopted DS's Life Story Book from his social worker- basically a child friendly version of the first year of his life. All information that I have been aware of for the past 6 months since we first linked with him. In fact I know a lot more detail than is included. But reading it in one place in a story that I will read to my son, broke my heart and made me sob!

Revising poetry with DD for GCSE Eng lit tomorrow. Poppies is about a mother mourning the loss of her son as he leaves home, implied to war, or at least joining up.

My DS will soon be leaving home, but for university (results pending) and I am happy for him spreading his wings, but oh, I will miss him so much.
The poem describes Eskimo kisses (rubbing noses) - I did that with my Gran, she did it with my kids and so did I. She died 7 years ago...

Watching a DVD of Due South that I found in a charity shop, it made me cry because I was 14 and innocent when I first saw it and the actors are all older. I'm pregnant and it mattered more at the time!

I was walking along carrying my son and my foot went from under me? I went over on my ankle and had to sit down on the pavement. A kind women came and asked was I ok and held DS while I stood up. I hobbled to the car and cried and cried!

I told a year 10 boy (aforementioned literature exam TMRW) I might cry a little on the inside if he left his revision materials in school again. TA says "Miss might actually cry tears on the outside too you know." And I welled up. Do not say such reckless things to a pregnant womanGrin

My dad made my kids a sand and water table because I couldn’t afford to buy one. And it’s really good. I regularly cry at home because he’s old and the best 😂
