and not stop 2" above the crease therefore riding up when you move?

And if anyone knows of any (cotton ones) that don't do this please let me know.

I have here a heap of Tesco, M&S and Asda ones and so far the only ones that are not too bad are the out of stock ones from last winter.

Depends on your bum. If you've got two eggs in a hanky or if it's sort of like a pancake and spread out.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/05/2018 15:41

I could have written your post. I swear that all knickers are getting more 'v' shaped. I don't wear full briefs, I prefer hi cut or hi-rise, but these are now so skimpy and brief I've been checking out mid-rise and boy briefs. I got some cotton boy briefs from M&S but they are hopeless - the gusset is so skimpy and thin it cut into me.

Plus, cotton is getting harder and harder to find. Seriously considering the men's department...

Scolopendra · 24/05/2018 15:46

I find Sainsburys full briefs lovely and comfy and cheekcoveringGrin I sometimes buy a size larger for extra comfort.

Twotabbycats · 24/05/2018 15:47

Sloggi midis give me good coverage at the top of the leg and come up to my waist in my normal size. Not cheap though! They do a maxi brief too which I think would be well above the waist.

Floralnomad · 24/05/2018 15:48

Sloggi full briefs are very good , but I agree with a pp that it really depends on the size / shape of the bottom involved .

GunpowderAndLead · 24/05/2018 15:52

Yes I could have written this too. My bum is square shaped and the best thing for not riding up is right men's boxers Blush

Takfujuimoto · 24/05/2018 15:57

Sloggi are the only ones that do that for me.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 24/05/2018 16:01

Are Sloggi 100% cotton?

qwertypop · 24/05/2018 16:01

You want handmade ones! Proper stretch cotton and made to actually cover a buttock Grin

Crease Free Clothes, Mardy Bum Boutique, and Ruby's Place are my top sellers of them. They've all got Facebook pages where you can have a nose :)

ToadOfSadness · 24/05/2018 16:02

Ahh, I bought Sloggis, in a larger size than usual but when I opened the pack they looked so tiny I put them back again.

M&S ones are going back, not just for the awful fit, but because they contain Lycra which would be OK if they actually felt like cotton.

I just want some that don't ride up, cut or roll down, like they used to be. My bum is kind of normal shaped, no special features or anything.

qwertypop · 24/05/2018 16:06

The briefs from the makers I mentioned are exactly that. Big comfy cotton gorgeousness. They cover the bum more than adequately and never ride up or chafe!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/05/2018 16:12

YANBU, even flipping 'boy shorts' don't cover your arse - Sloggi I'm looking at you... Angry

Mirrorwriting · 24/05/2018 16:16

My bum is kind of normal shaped, no special features or anything Grin

Special features like a built in typewriter or something.

ToadOfSadness · 24/05/2018 16:29

I was thinking more of a broom to sweep the floor as I walk but yeah, built in typewriter would do.

Will take a look at the ones you mentioned qwerty, thank you.

I've found Sainsburys better than other brands for full briefs. Try and stock up when they have one of their regular 20% off deals. Agree to opt for the bigger size if you are between sizes too.

SingingSands · 24/05/2018 16:37

Agree with @YetAnotherSpartacus about gussets - they’re becoming practically non-existent.

I had new pants on when out for a meal last week and was so uncomfortable that I went to the loo, took them off and binned them!

So between no bum coverage and dental floss gussets I feel that manufacturers think we’re all shaped like Barbie.

Lethaldrizzle · 24/05/2018 17:00

Bigger pants?

Furano · 24/05/2018 17:32

John Lewis plain bikini briefs

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/05/2018 17:43

The briefs from the makers I mentioned are exactly that

I've had a look and they look great! The Crease free clothes ones don't look too ridiculously expensive either.

DuchyDuke · 24/05/2018 17:44

M&S no VPL briefs are fantastic.

Akire · 24/05/2018 17:46

I got some New Marks granny pants and they are 1cm smaller in crotch and either bum check against the ones I’ve washed loads! We want granny pants that don’t move. So you can have it balancing both sides or one bum check but not both same time! Also want pants that you know have a bigger crotch than a pad. Not to much to ask surely!

Branleuse · 24/05/2018 17:50

john lewis pants have great arse coverage and i have a big bum. Even their bikini ones cover my bum, and their full briefs even more so

Our nearest Waitrose is small so none there, unfortunately, Sainsburys the same, no clothing, have to make a special trip to another one for that and then forget to look when I finally get there.

@Branleuse I had looked on the JL website but the distance from waistband to belly button in the photo of the pima cotton ones made me think they weren't high waisted as they look like midis?
What is the sizing like? I seem to be between 2 sizes and as some shops say non returnable I am ending up with far too many unwearables.

OP posts:
qwertypop · 24/05/2018 18:04

They are more expensive than high street ones (though sloggi come close tbf) but I know Mardy Bum Boutique does a basics range in plain colours that are way cheaper than the patterned fabrics, less than half the price if you buy 3 pairs at once. You just have to be quick off the mark as they sell out fast!

Branleuse · 24/05/2018 18:09

Theyre quite high waisted.
Sizing seems fine. I always size up for knickers anyway.
