Wake up at 8am
Go on an hour walk
Go to a music lesson
Go to a driving lesson
Revise for an hour
Go to work for 5 hours
Bed at 11pm

It’s not massively busy no.

EnergyM Tue 22-May-18 13:13:06

Thank you

Is that a teenager's routine?

I have a teenager that thinks I have no idea how busy she is!

To be honest that's quite a lot of things in one day but not mega busy

EnergyM Tue 22-May-18 13:15:22

Yes, 17, apparently no one is as busy as she is

Buddyelf Tue 22-May-18 13:17:40

For a 17 year old no. For me it would be, that along side school runs, washing, cooking etc would feel like a very busy day indeed.

HarrietKettleWasHere Tue 22-May-18 13:18:07

Yeah, at 17 I'd have felt mega busy with that.

InDubiousBattle Tue 22-May-18 13:18:18

If the music lesson and driving lesson are both an hour each then that's 9 hours of 'stuff' in a day. I think that's quite busy actually. All stuff for her own benefit obviously but not a day lounging about either.

InDubiousBattle Tue 22-May-18 13:18:56

Did she even ask to be born op?

HomeisbytheBay Tue 22-May-18 13:19:03

Yes that's busy. Why are you asking?

VladmirsPoutine Tue 22-May-18 13:19:56

But what's the problem? If said teen is using that as an excuse to shirk household responsibilities then there's a problem but if everything is just as it is and everyone's fine then live and let live.

itallhappensforareason Tue 22-May-18 13:20:16

At 17 I would probably find that was quite busy. Especially clearly juggling education/driving/work.

BuntyII Tue 22-May-18 13:21:27

Yes I'd be knackered after all that.

KalindaBlack Tue 22-May-18 13:21:42

Yes that's quite busy

EnergyM Tue 22-May-18 13:21:53

She's just very grumpy, apparently because she is too busy and no one understands. She apparently can't put the washing in the wash bin or make her bed "as she is just too busy to do that"

SpeckleDust Tue 22-May-18 13:22:45

That sounds like quite a nice day!

Tell her what my 12 yo DD is doing today:

Wake up 4.30am
Swim training 5.00 - 6.30am
School 8.30 - 3pm
Research interview 4.30 - 6.30pm (about 40 mins travel each way)
Homework/Dinner 7.30-9 pm
Bed 9.30pm

GalwayWayfarer Tue 22-May-18 13:25:23

I'd say it's fairly busy and all worthy activities, but not so much that she can't do her washing or make her bed!

Crunched Tue 22-May-18 13:26:17

That is a lot busier than my teen currently on study leave - but managing to change it to sleep/internet browsing leave sad

Notevenmyrealname Tue 22-May-18 13:27:29

Pretty busy if you ask me, if you count the bits in between as well - getting to and from music and driving lessons and work, getting changed for work (depending what she does), plus meals, getting dressed / ready for bed. Pretty full day. Do you want her to do chores too? I’d only do preparing food, washing pots and laundry if I had a day like that, nothing major. I’d still expect her to do something but that is a pretty full day. And revising and lessons are things that use your brain too. Some days just going to work and doing nothing else wipes me out.

adaline Tue 22-May-18 13:27:32

Actually I would say that's fairly busy for a 17yo. Work, school, a music lesson and a driving lesson in one day isn't exactly a tiny amount of activity.

Driving lessons are tiring and can be pretty stressful too - at least they were for me!

mustbemad17 Tue 22-May-18 13:27:47

I'd say that's mentall quite busy tbh. Learning to drive & learning music is mentally challenging. Physically busy no

Cornettoninja Tue 22-May-18 13:28:36

Did she even ask to be born op

I misread the op as 11am initially and thought it was but, no, it's a fairly productive day but not 'busy' busy.

KirstenRaymonde Tue 22-May-18 13:29:18

I’d say that is pretty busy actually, two different lessons, revision and working. Learning to drive is knackering. Looks like she’s in and out of the house a lot. Doesn’t mean she can’t do anything around the house, but if that was my day I probably wouldn’t bother which too much housework either.

InDubiousBattle Tue 22-May-18 13:29:33

Ah, I see! Well she'll just have to choose between her walk, driving or music if she can't manage it all plus a basic level of chores at home!

extinctspecies Tue 22-May-18 13:30:51

An hour of revision isn't very much.
