Sorry for using aibu. I need some advice, I don't have a GP at the moment and I'm wondering if this can wait until I can register when we've moved?

My period is so heavy, I've got pain in my abdomen, thighs and shoulder. I'm definitely not pregnant as I did a test last week but so far today I've saturated a cheap reusable pad, to my clothes, had to buy new underwear and jeans and i bought 3 packs of normal pads. I've saturated 4 night time pads since 4pm today, I had to come home from our lovely night out early as I just felt so Unclean and in a lot of discomfort.

Iv had a bath and that usually stops the bleeding for a bit but it didn't this time and when I got in it looked like a massacre!

Aibu? Should I just ride it out and see if I can register with a GP ASAP or does this need something sooner than next period?

Thanks

Pretty sure this can be a sign of sepsis - if you’re soaking through pads that quickly it’s not normal

Please call 101 OP for urgent help

No that’s not normal and you need medical attention. There was a thread a while ago about a MN with a very heavy period who ended up in hospital.

Definitely get yourself checked out. I assume you wouldn’t have posted here if you weren’t worried.
Please go to out of hours at least. Don’t leave it until the morning.

You're not quite hitting the pad an hour medical criteria but as that's really heavy and unusual for you I'd phone for advice.

Please get checked out, it could 'just' be a heavy period, but it could also be a symptom of something serious.

I really think you need medical attention and probably fairly quickly just in case. It could be just a heavy period but anything which is not normal for you like this should be taken seriously in my opinion.

If your periods aren't usually this crazily heavy then you need to get seen tonight. That's a lot of blood you're losing.

If this is abnormal for you, 111 and get checked out soon.

There was a poster on here a while ago with the same problem and she ended up in hospital seriously ill.

I am on the phone to 111. DH is here so will drive wherever needed. Really sad as it's our 5th wedding anniversary and he booked a really nice restaurant :( it's normal for me to have heavy periods but this is a lot heavier than normal.

I do have a temperature as well. Woman on 111 keeps asking questions about stroke :/

Not to alarm you but when I had an ectopic pregnancy, that's how it started. Preg tests were negative too.
Get to a&e noe! What you've described isn't normal.
Let us know how you are later xx

I am glad you are getting some professional advice. It is a shame about your anniversary though. But all going well you can try to sort something another time

Well the woman at 111 wouldn't let DH drive me to A&E and is sending an ambulance, really don't think it's necessary but she wouldn't listen to me. Very embarrassing. The neighbours are going to have a field day!

Thanks for your help it's useful to have outside input when you can't see properly

Glad they’re taking you seriously. Sometimes I feel these things are brushed off as women’s issues and we should just get on with it.
