Our 4 year old goes to nursery and has been attending for 3 years now. In the last 6 months or so, there has been a high turnover of staff for whatever reason and my daughter hasnt seemed as happy as she used to whilst there. It seems to be a sentiment thats echoed theoughout some of the other kids too as quite a few children have left recently to move to another nursery. I thought, given that I can take her out in July before she starts infants in September we would stick it out. However a month ago, I went to fetch her as normal and when she ran to me, she had a bloody great gash down her cheek. It was that deep, it was weeping yellow fluid! The Manager came over to me straight away and to be fair, she was mortified as she explained that she had caused it, with her nail. She doesnt wear false nails and no way does it look like a nail mark to me. Anyway, 4 weeks on and it really has scarred. Ive seen the cctv and believe that it was actually a zip on her cardigan but she denies this. Im absolutely gutted that my beautiful girl now has a scar on her face that she will be self conscious of. As a Mum, you constantly try to keep your children safe from harm and im absolutely devastated that this has happened. I asked the manager to provide me with a list of all accident reports raised last year and this year. 3 this year have been caused by the bloody staff! Every time I take her in now I worry, but cant get her moved so close to end of term and have no one who can look after her while I am at work. Ive dropped her to minimum hours but every time I see the manager i just want to say to her look at my daughters face. You did this and now she will have to deal with it when she is older. Aibu that I expected a full apology rather than a giggly Im ever so sorry? Aibu to want to report to Ofsted? One pic is the week after it was done, the second is four weeks on. Putting Savlon on daily. Thanks for reading. 😟
