Jeez - trying not to get involved in royal wedding chaos - but this is such a no brainer! Surely her Mum should give her away? Or are they all racist misogynistic traditionalists?

I think it’s a really nice gesture.

Yeah mother would be nice

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 18/05/2018 10:13

The royal family are traditionalist- shock

I thought it was a good compromise. Meh!

MistyMeena · 18/05/2018 10:13

Maybe her mum doesn't want to?

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 18/05/2018 10:13

some posters are way too invested in a story about people they don't know, events they are not part of and whose whole story escape them completely if they only relay about the smidgens of information they get from the trash press.

Longtalljosie · 18/05/2018 10:14

Maybe her mum doesn’t want to. Not that she doesn’t love her daughter but being front and centre of a state wedding is a slightly terrifying thing to do...

monkeytoad35 · 18/05/2018 10:14

I can't believe her mum isn't walking her down the aisle, especially as her dad isn't going! What a complete snub to her mum, I've gone off her now.....big time!

HateSummer · 18/05/2018 10:14

Maybe she didn’t want to do it and be in the limelight? I think it’s a noble and lovely thing for Charles to do. I’m sure everyone did what Megan and her mum agreed to.

Amanduh · 18/05/2018 10:15

I think Charles walking her would be lovely.

DinoGreen · 18/05/2018 10:16

Maybe her mum doesn’t want to do it? I think it’s a nice gesture having Prince Charles do it.

Only the third thread on this in a matter of minutes. Biscuit

Marmablade · 18/05/2018 10:17

I think it's super sad she even has to make this decision because the press scared off her dad. Especially after what happened to her would have been mother in law Sad

Jarstastic · 18/05/2018 10:17

I’m a tad disappointed it’s not the actors who play Lewis Litt or Varvey Specter! Or even Rachel’s father.

Nice gesture of Prince Charles. I wonder if he’s ever given anyone away before.

TomMarkle · 18/05/2018 10:17

I'm not really surprised her mother doesn't want to do it. It would be pretty overwhelming.

The father of the groom doesn't seem like quite the right choice. It's a shame she doesn't have a single relative in the world who could do this for her.

Buzzlightyearsbumchin · 18/05/2018 10:17

People in here spend half their time telling others it's their wedding they should do it their way.

Unless you're royal, then everyone has an opinion and everything you do is wrong.

GivenAndDenied · 18/05/2018 10:17

I don't think it's anybodys business what someone else chooses to do at their wedding, whoever the people getting married are.

ILikeMyChickenFried · 18/05/2018 10:17

She can't do a single thing right can she? Maybe she didn't want to have her mother Do it, maybe her mother didn't want to do it?

I think it's a lovely show of support from Charles.

eggcellent · 18/05/2018 10:18

How could that possibly be construed as racist?

TeisanLap · 18/05/2018 10:18

A lovely gesture.

Queenoftheblitz · 18/05/2018 10:18

It goes against protocol as it should be someone on her side "giving her away".
But "giving her away" is such an outdated gesture that I hope "walking her up the aisle" replaces it.

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 18/05/2018 10:19

What a complete snub to her mum
only from your own point of view, not everybody is obsessed by being in the limelight.

Maybe Meghan and her mother feels like Prince Charles giving her away makes her feel completely included in the new family , and that's it's a lovely thing to do. Maybe they are not "them" against "Us" the way you want them to be.

But well down on being so judgmental and projecting your own issues there.

Nice gesture of Prince Charles. I wonder if he’s ever given anyone away before.

He's walked the daughter of a family friend down the aisle. I believe it was one of Diana's God daughters.

divadee · 18/05/2018 10:19

jar he gave away a family friends daughter who was estranged from her dad a couple of years ago.

I think meghans mum probably declined. Would you really want that role? All that attention?

TomMarkle · 18/05/2018 10:19

Nice gesture of Prince Charles. I wonder if he’s ever given anyone away before.

Yes, he did for his deceased friend's daughter recently didn't he? Lord Brabourne.

But let's stop saying "giving her away" please. Women are not commodities to be given from one man to another!
