AIBU?

I had to catch a 9am train

...Is the excuse my housemate gave me as to why she left the toilet in a state.

Which she does every day...

This time I messaged her politely asking her to clean it after herself.

Her actual words were "I had a 9am train". No apology or embarrassment.

AIBU in thinking what the fuck does catching a 9am train have to do with anything?

AIBU in thinking there is never an excuse not to take five seconds to use the toilet brush, no matter how pushed for time you are? (not debating whether we should have one or not Wink )

AIBU to think I shouldn't have to ask a grown woman to not leave a fucking mess in the toilet on a daily basis (so even if the train thing could have been an excuse, what were the reasons for every other day?!)

Sorry it's gross, I'm just pissed off and I'm moving out. She's a piece of shit. She ate my food and when I called her out on it, again no apology or offer to replace, just "I probably got confused".

Anyone else have crappy housemates?

She sounds disgusting

9amTrain · 18/05/2018 08:40

She also ruined our hoover by hoovering up her pissy cat litter from the tray (who does that?) so now the whole house smells like ammonia and cat piss if you use it.

Ugh! That’s rank! It take so seconds to throw bleach down and give it a swish. Put clingfilm over the toilet bowl 😂

I houseshared with a girl who sang very loudly and very badly a lot of the time, the rest of the time she spent shagging (again, loudly) the male housemates.

KeiTeNgeNge · 18/05/2018 08:42

When are you moving? And have you told her yet?

witchofzog · 18/05/2018 08:42

I would reply back with what you have said on here. Though from the sounds of it she doesn't give a shit so moving out would be the best thing long term if there are other issues going on too. If someone said this to me I would be mortified. She sounds like she thinks cleaning up her own shit is not her responsibility which is gross

Mulberry72 · 18/05/2018 08:43

She sounds disgusting.

I’d be looking for somewhere else to live, with a housemate who wasn’t such a dirty cow!

9amTrain · 18/05/2018 08:45

I will be moving asap and will tell her as soon as I confirm my replacement.

I'm just baffled at how someone can be like that and even try to defend their behaviour?

Grim. She sounds rude and selfish.

livefornaps · 18/05/2018 08:46

Hey, is she the girlfriend of the shitting man from that café thread? No wonder they're shagging so loudly - it's a match made in heaven...!

Starlighter · 18/05/2018 08:50

I’d reply back:

“Regardless of what time your train, it’s pretty gross to leave the toilet in such a state. Could you please allow extra time, just 30 seconds should cover it, to clean this up next time.”

Can I just add, a 9am train is not in the least bit early?!! Confused

Starlighter · 18/05/2018 08:51

Failing that, take a photo of it and post on it social media!! Grin

RebootYourEngine · 18/05/2018 08:54

Glad you are moving out. She sounds like a grotty bitch. How long a wait do you have before you leave?

9amTrain · 18/05/2018 08:55

@Starlighter it's not early at all. It's a slap in the face as well as I go to work before 5am, to clean shitty toilets...! And then she says that.

Posting it on social media is so tempting.

Take a photo and send it to her on WhatsApp with the message that next time it will be on a public forum.

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 18/05/2018 09:10

I would move too, it's disgusting.

PositivelyPERF · 18/05/2018 09:13

Tell her it’s not your job to clean up her shit. Dirty fucker.

Oh god, hovering up the cat litter. That is so gross, bleugh!!

EnglishRose13 · 18/05/2018 09:23

We had a lodger for nine months. Nine long months.

He was awful but one thing he did was block the toilet and just leave it for me to find when I got home. He did this all the time. He had some use of the main bathroom but would always do it in the downstairs toilet. It was vile. He was vile.

Grumblepants · 18/05/2018 09:24

I've had housemates like this in the past. I hated every second!
On top of bathroom mess and jizz on the loo seat, there were bailiffs turning up, weird housemate who had 3 different people living in his head that he used to have conversations with, random strangers he met on gaydar turning up at our flat for meetings with him, plates and dishes put away in the kitchen cupboards with food still dried on them, stealing our food and housekeeping money, not washing bedsheets for 10 months, other housemate who's girlfriend likes to stamp her dominance by having very loud sex every night and take over the kitchen and living room if I was in (just so I knew where my place was! I was the one paying fucking rent).
In summary house sharing is shit. Don't do it!

FizzyGreenWater · 18/05/2018 09:38

'Really? Catching a 9am train is such a difficult challenge for you that you can't possibly clean up your own foul shit before you do so? Shall I make sure I point that out on the FB post I'm about to share, showing everyone just what a fucking skank you are?'

Eurgh. Dirty cow. People who behave like this baffle me. Where's her sense of pride? As for hoovering up cat litter, she owes you a new hoover. Even a Jo Malone candle won't disguise the stench of ammonia and piss.

StormTreader · 18/05/2018 10:25

"And I start work at 5. Now we've played "life is hard top trumps", clean up after yourself like an adult."

deydododatdodontdeydo · 18/05/2018 10:44

She's a slob. I had a housemate like this. Thankfully the toilet was kept clean, but all the crockery and cutlery gravitated to her room, dirty for days as there was always some reason she couldn't do it.
Funnily enough it started after getting a job, straight after uni.
Her cats also pissed and crapped everywhere and wasn't ever properly cleaned up.
