To find out how to permanently delete Facebook

This is doing my head in. I want to permanently delete my Facebook account. I have managed to deactivate the account but can't figure out how to permanently delete. Please help 😫

I wish someone would set up a search engine on the world wide web.... Would really be useful.

All you had to do was search "delete my account" in Facebook help and you'd get the full instructions. But here they are:

If you don't think you'll use Facebook again, you can request to have your account permanently deleted.
Before permanently deleting your account, you may want to log in and download a copy of your information from Facebook. Once your account has been deleted, it cannot be recovered.
To permanently delete your account:
Click at the top right of any Facebook page.
Click Settings.
Click Your Facebook Information in the left column.
Click Delete Your Account and Information, then click Delete My Account.
