AIBU?

Weirdest colleague comment ever (slightly NSFW possibly!)

MyotherUsernameisaPun · 26/04/2018 17:00

Bear with me here because I'm baffled and hiding in the loo to type this Grin

My colleague has just mentioned her fears that her daughter (not sure her exact age but early to mid teens I think) will have a skewed idea of how big penises are because colleague's DH is 'hung like a horse' and may have given her the wrong impression.

Cue long pause and me being very Hmm Hmm Hmm and then another colleague asks how the daughter would even know and colleague airily says 'oh just from when he wanders around after the bath'.

Am I just a massive prude or is this weird?! Nudity wasn't at all a taboo thing in my household growing up but my dad certainly wasn't strolling around in the buff after a bath with his bits hanging out! I would have died of mortification as a teenager if he had Blush

Perhaps she means when the child was younger?

My dad did. I suppose it's a bit weird but I mostly paid no attention. What's weird is she mentioned it at all. And implying her daughter will be disappointed is just all kids of wrong.

I'm a dad with two boys and only one toilet, my kids see me in the buff all time else I'd be forever mopping up piss.

Thats such a bizarre thing to say! My family growing up were more like yours but my best friends was definitely more like your colleagues. I think the conversation sounds odder than the difference in nudity levels of each household.

Stealth boast imo!
She just wants you to know Wink

It sounded like she was talking about it being a common occurrence now but I could have misunderstood! I might give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that.

@ItchySeveredFoot she didn't go so far as to say her daughter would be disappointed, more just that she might have an inaccurate idea of what is average. It kind of felt like she was looking for an opportunity to have a sneaky humble brag...!

How odd that that was her first thought?

I vaguely remember seeing my dad in the shower when I was a kid and needed a pee, but he didn’t walk around the house naked.

DP doesn’t either! Although he did take the boys to the loo with him when they were toilet training. But other than that, no.

That said I’m still Confused that that was her reaction to it?

Why would it occur to anyone to discuss the size of their husband’s penis??? Or am I the weird one?

At my new job on discovering I had multiple dc a colleague asked if I had a fanjo like a welly top...
The response was not politically correct so I won't post it here.

yeah...massive humble brag...

Nowt wrong with strolling around in the buff in your own house.

We're a fairly naked house (neighbours probably pleased we have blinds) so there's never been any issue with seeing each other in the nud but I'd never bring DH's todger into general conversation.

Definitely a stealth boast!

In my limited experience, whatever the size of penis when erect they mostly look a fairly similar size when limp. I'm assuming that her dh doesn't wander around naked with an erect penis therefore I think it's a stealth boast. Really weird though.

I definitely used to see both my parents naked growing up. Not flaunting it but walking in and out of the bathroom or running to our linen cabinet swearing like sailors because the other had failed to re-stock the towels.

Nothing strange about that at all, IMO.

Mentioning something like it at work and being preoccupied that the dominant impression a DD would get would be size, OTOH: Confused

That made me chuckle! I’ve done the same run, swearing like a sailor Blush

Nudity was normal in our house growing up, and that means that you don't really see genitals as genitals. Even as teenagers we weren't embarrassed because it was what we did.

I did have to rein it in around the inlaws though. They were quite shocked when I didn't blanch when one wandered into the bathroom while I was taking a shower.

If nudity is normal in their household the kid wouldn't notice.

Wouldn’t the dad’s penis just be limp when walking around post shower etc? Thinking back to all the men I’ve slept with, I think all their penises looked roughly similar when limp.

So sounds like a rather weird way to humble brag about her DHs size.

AnneLovesGilbert · 26/04/2018 17:29

DH sleeps naked. He’s always done so.

For as long as the kids insist on hurling themselves into our room at crack of sodding dawn, they’re going to see the man naked.

Why would that be bad?

They did once ask the childminder if she knew that daddy had a big willy to much embarrassment all round, but that was in comparison to DSS who was about 4 at the time.

LuluJakey1 · 26/04/2018 17:31

DS(3) has a shower with DH two or three mornings a week. It has never crossed our minds there might be an issue - although DS is obsessed with his own willy.

you should have quoted Blackadder at her

Size is no guarantee of quality, Baldrick. Most horses are very well-endowed, but that does not necessarily make them sensitive lovers

and def a stealthboasting weirdo!
