Is this a sad way to spend a birthday?

It's my birthday today but am celebrating with family tomorrow. I hadn't bothered to organise anything for tonight because I was supposed to be at a community activity that I'm involved in and had to miss a few meetings recently so didn't want to miss this one as well (no one there knows its my birthday). About twenty minutes ago the meeting was cancelled due to a key person being ill.

So basically my family won't be around until tomorrow and I've no plans for tonight. I don't really want to make a last minute arrangement to meet up with friends (I don't tend to broadcast that it's my birthday). I'd quite like to just have a couple of glasses of wine and watch telly by myself. Does that sound sad? I've never spent my birthday on my own before?

If you are happy this evening then it’s not sad!! I hate celebrating my birthday, really don’t like the fuss, I’d be perfectly happy with the night you are planning so if you are happy then all I can say is cheers and happy birthday!! Xx

Go and get yourself a bottle of champagne & chocs and watch what you want on TV - bliss!

To add, I meet my mum and lunchtime and she bought me a beautiful present and then we went for lunch.

My birthday today too! I’ve been running around after my toddler and getting badly beaten up by my 36 week in uterine baby. Your birthday sounds a million times better than mine, I’m so jealous! Enjoy the wine and peace and have a lovely day celebrating tomorrow with your family 😊

That sounds great. If it was me id also treat myself to a family sized bag of crisps to go with the wine....

Sounds great to me - a day wholly to yourself with no commitments to anyone or anything else - what could be better.

Happy birthday girl - you enjoy every self-indulgent minute of it!

Happy Birthday. I rarely celebrate on my actual birthday when it's a working day - I always shift it to the weekend when I can properly enjoy it. It sounds like you have a lovely time planned for tomorrow

Enjoy tonight - watch what you want, eat something delicious and have some wine wine

Happy birthday!! Sounds like a perfect way to spend a day to me grin

I've spent a few birthdays on my own. Do something to treat yourself. Some wine? A long soak in the bath? Box of Malteasers? Feet up in front of the telly. As long as you're enjoying it, it's not sad!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday! It's your day and if you haven't got the pressure of having to celebrate with others, do what you want. Treat yourself to something nice to eat as well!

Happy Birthday!
Go to the shop, get your favourite things to eat and drink (or order a takeaway), buy or rent a movie, put your feet up in your PJs and enjoy! :-D

MumofBoysx2 Thu 26-Apr-18 15:58:56

(don't try to put your feet up your PJS, you could end up in a tangled heap, haha, that would be sad!)

Aprilmightbemynewname Thu 26-Apr-18 15:59:30

You need to add chocolate to your evening....

atthecopacopacabana Thu 26-Apr-18 15:59:43

It sounds perfect to me. Posh crisps and wine in pjs. Happy 🎂
