Would you judge?

As in, nearly 4, not just turned 3

Yeah I'll admit I would. It's a pg13 because of violent scenes. Not something I'd deem suitable for a 3 year old. My judgy pants would be up my arse!

I wouldn’t! I’ve seen it and there is death & violence from the start. I think 4 is probably a bit young.

I mean I wouldn’t do it. I would judge to be fair.

You’ve seen it already!? Jealous!

I wouldn’t think it’s appropriate.

Yes, I went to a pre screening yesterday Smile
There were a couple of kids nearby who looked to be aged under 9 and I thought it was a bit gory for them in parts.

Yes, I would judge.
No need.

I would wonder what the child has been allowed to watch they would acclimatise them to such a film, especially if the parents were confident it would be fine. I am pretty sure my 4 year old would be traumatised but I don’t have much reference because she hasn’t seen much past CBeebies and Paddington.

I won't let my 10 year watch stuff like this so yes, YABU. 3, whatever point he's at, is way too young.

Not sure a 3 year old would even sit still and focus during the whole thing?

I would judge
My DS is 9 and he’s fine but I would take a much younger child to a Marvel film

AfterSchoolWorry · 25/04/2018 22:07

Yeh, I would judge. Surely a 3 year old would be terrified!?

I can't get the stupidly complicated plotlines straight in my head (millions of glowing cubes that do different things, can't remember who hates the other and why, etc) and I'm 33. It's also 3 hours. I don't know many 3 year olds who wouldn't get fed up.

Terrified? Really?!

She’s seen all the other films. I won’t take her then.

not a chance DS (5, going on 6) will be watching it
My DGM let him watch Transformers at her house and I was horrified

My kids were young in the days when video recorders were still a thing ( I feel about 100years old!). Anyway, there was a hell raiser marathon on once through the night, hell raiser 1/2/3 so I taped it. Came down the next morning to find they’d got up super early, my son had someone pressed play and my 2 and 3 year old were halfway through hell raiser 3 (having seen the full first 2 films). In fact my daughter loved pinhead and went on about him for ages afterwards!

They are both adults now and not serial killers and not afraid of scary films (unlike some of my friends). So I am somewhat blasé about this kind of stuff.

Sorry but Why on earth would you?
Its not a kiddies film!
And i would be seriously pissed off if someone sat beside me with a 4yr old and they got scared and cried or chattered all through it.
Its a violent action film, supreme being trying to cull the earths population etc not flipping Peter Rabbit!

It's a 12A, not a 12, not even a PG. It's totally inappropriate for a glorified toddler. It's not a case of judging, It's a case of what a 3 year old should be exposed to.

storm

Same! I grew up watching horrors with my mum so films have never effected me and I don’t really censor what my kids watch.

Hmm I’m taking DS7 on Friday .... all massive Marvel fans! I don’t think DS would of been “terrified” at 4

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 25/04/2018 22:16

I would be horrified about my child watching transformers though. Because it’s shit.

Yeah, I know i’m going against the grain here but if you think your child will enjoy it and your happy to take them then don’t worry about what other people think.

Report
NotUmbongoUnchained · 25/04/2018 22:17

Yeah she didn’t enjoy transformers. I was glad when she asked to turn it off Grin

Must be something about pinhead - I also "accidentally" watched it - when I was 3, I used to kiss the TV screen as I felt sorry for him!
