AIBU?

To be annoyed at Littlewoods

I ordered clothes and was told they'd arrive next Thurs. Great. Now I get an email to say they'll arrive on Friday. I'm away for the weekend. So I contacted the chat helpline.

They can't tell me when on Friday the parcel will arrive.
They can't change the delivery address to where I'll be on Friday.
They can't tell me how long redelivery will take - I need the clothes for next weekend.
They can't instruct the driver not to leave the clothes on my back porch which is the instruction I gave for if I was out and about on Thursday. I don't want them on the doorstep all weekend.
They can't change delivery until Mon.

But at the end of the chat they asked did they answer all my questions. Hmm

This is the first time I have ever bought anything from Littlewoods. Looks like it'll be the last....

Can't they just leave it with your neighbour?

YANBU at all. Run like the wind away from them, the credit account is unbelievably high interest and designed to suck you in.

If you're going to use them then use Very (same company and products) and pay upfront.

It does seem normal that they can't change delivery instructions although it is slightly worrying that they will leave the parcel on the doorstep all weekend, is there no neighbour who can keep an eye out and take it? Usually they are signed for deliveries so someone will need to sign for it

We've just moved house. Only here less than a fortnight. So I had said not to leave it with a neighbour as I wanted to say hi to them first Blush
And now they can't change whatever instructions I put down on the form. Which I filled out based on a Thurs delivery day, bit Fri

I said I didn't want the parcel on the doorstep, but customer service rep said they had to follow the instructions. And when I asked what would happen if the neighbour's dog (who's always sniffing around but is very cute) opened the parcel s/he said they'd open an enquiry as to why the parcel was left. So maybe they won't leave it

I'd leave a note on the door saying the please do not leave any parcels on doorstep.

You could place the order again to make sure it arrives for next week then send the other package back if it gets redelivered again. (I'd only do this if free delivery though)

Not much help regarding your parcel but id dump Littlewoods and get Very instead, its exactly the same stuff but a lot cheaper and a lot less APR.

Ginger good idea - I was going to leave a note but the reordering is a good idea. I've paid upfront though so will have to pay twice. Eeeek. That's a lot of money. I'll have a think.

(Yes delivery is free)
