I’ve been to a&e many times. It’s not a private place by any means. I’ve had an enema behind curtains with the police chasing a crack heard outside and the Curtains flinging open while I was crapping my brains out on the camode.

I've been in a few times and had an ecg. A couple of times they kept the curtains open as they wanted to be able to keep an eye on me without having to disturb me all the time

If you find it intrusive just ask them if they wouldn't mind the curtains being shut

Meopham, I've had an ecg before. I was completely bare chested for it. If you're dil is sitting having an ecg done with no bra/top on and everything on view you need to speak to the staff about maintaining her dignity.

You're right - I get catheterised in A&E quite often which is (unfortunately for me) a lengthy process usually involving at least 2 nurses and a doctor due to lots of issues.

Worst time a cleaner waltzed in midway through - legs akimbo, doctor and nurse trying to feed tubing in... cleaner backed out very quickly once she realised!

The door was bloody shut on that occasion too, it wasn't even a curtain!!

The same. She was bare chested, literally just her knickers on. Other people could see (other patients/relatives etc), with no concern. I was embarrassed that I could see!

Last time I had an ecg I was told to put on a gown which the doctor then just whipped open exposing my naked top half without warning and never closed it again so I'd feel a tad exposed if the curtains were then left open.
