"Please remember to take some piriton before arriving. The pollen count will be high and the last thing I want is sneezing during the ceremony."

Paraphrased but similar tone.

I can't work out if it's unreasonable to ask your guests to medicate themselves so they don't sniffle grin

PurpleDoughnut Tue 24-Apr-18 16:36:11

Some people homestly deserve to be shot with a ball of their own shite!! Being told to self medicate and an a4 page of bulletpoints just incase guests forget how to adult...good lord!!piriton makes me drowsy so if I were you I'd double the dose, hope it makes you drowsy too and you just sleep through the entire thing with a bit of luck thus avoiding the insufferable fucknugget and her pollenfest debacle.

As Bridezilla did glide down the aisle
She didn't show even a smile
Cos her Uncle Bart
Emitted a fart
And shot from the pew by a mile.

DrinkFeckArseGirls Tue 24-Apr-18 13:26:25

TBH I find that sentence so rude - how could the bride think it’s ok to speak to the guests like that? I probably would have declined the invitations and told her why (politely).

phlewf Tue 24-Apr-18 08:56:19

Thank you tarty I do wear perfume but I’m hardly along in a bit of splash for a wedding. I was pretty reasonable but her wedding was in a pissing botanic garden. I was the least floral thing there.
I was planning on putting a FAQ page on the website (in place of invitation, save the trees and all that) with layout and access and more detailed info. I wouldn’t ban sneezing though.

That made me laugh, not much can do that at 8.30am!

BettyBettyBetty Mon 23-Apr-18 21:31:10

My friends are such assholes they'd be sneezing none stop if I said this!

Tongue and cheek 😂

Tartyflette Mon 23-Apr-18 17:04:05

I was agog at the other poster who had instructions from the bride not to wear a corsage or perfume as she didn't like smells.
How far would guests be expected to take that? - no shower gel, body lotion, deodorant, hand-cream? Often strongly fragranced.
Would guests be instructed to use plain coal tar soap and nothing else?

Libbie001 Mon 23-Apr-18 13:16:31

I love tongue and cheek humour!

If someone wrote this on an invite I would be thankful as it would remind me to pack eyedrops etc.

Lweji Mon 23-Apr-18 12:57:17

So, "the last thing I want is sneezing during the ceremony." is not paraphrasing.

I'd be tempted to send her a list of other things that are much worse than sneezing during the ceremony, starting with groom's long time lover showing up with love child.

user1andonly Mon 23-Apr-18 12:52:20

I bet she has some particularly stubborn relative who has a similar level of sneezing and refuses to acknowledge it

That's what I was thinking! Great Uncle Albert gets bad hay fever, his sneezes are like a fanfare and he makes no attempt to stifle them! But she can't single him out for a lecture so has to include everyone.

motorpink Mon 23-Apr-18 12:40:32

No it really wouldn't.

kateandme Mon 23-Apr-18 11:54:15

worded different this would have been a really kind add on shown shes thinking of all the peeps who do get really bad hayfever especially at some wedding venues. but worded like this so as not to no no.

motorpink Mon 23-Apr-18 11:14:52

If someone sneezing is going to ruin her wedding she must be very unhappy.

frasier Mon 23-Apr-18 11:07:39

People like this aren’t used to throwing parties, organising events. It’s understandable that they want everything to go right but they wreck it with over planning.

GabsAlot Mon 23-Apr-18 10:49:30

things go wrong u cant control every single thing

her poor kids will be so bored over two days nothing to do noone to play with

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune Mon 23-Apr-18 10:20:06

She's planning not to offer free drinks.

You're advised not to drink on Piriton.

She's trying to make it easier on her and groom 😃

Actually after my prolonged fit of mega sneezes this morning I fear I could be with Bridezilla on this one.

I bet she has some particularly stubborn relative who has a similar level of sneezing and refuses to acknowledge it. grin

I would definitely have halted to ceremony and sent me out.

firstnamecraplastnamebag Mon 23-Apr-18 09:55:18

🤣🤣🤣🤣 what a fucking idiot I hope someone has the biggest sneezing fit during that ceremony!

Ivegotnothing Mon 23-Apr-18 09:54:16

I once went to a wedding where the bride insisted no men wear white socks...and anyone with reactolight glasses had to buy plain glass glasses just for the occasion it didn't spoil her photographs!!

Slartybartfast Mon 23-Apr-18 09:52:34

talk about bridezilla - how dare they

CircleSquareCircleSquare Mon 23-Apr-18 09:46:59

OP do you think everyone got the anti histamine suggestion or was it just you?

maggienolia Mon 23-Apr-18 09:35:07

We don't know what's in the four pages so a few possibilities?
We are enclosing two swatches and all outfits must conform to these colours.
We also enclose diet sheets to be followed for a week before the ceremony.
The bride will be sending all guests to the toilet before the ceremony.
All mobile devices will be confiscated and locked in the desk until the service ends.
All non- attenders must provide a note from their mum.
