Couple of days ago noticed some heatspots/bites on me but put it down to irritation as we are doing some renovation on the house, a couple of days later my daughter mentioned she had a couple of spots (sometimes we sleep together as husband snores )and I then started to think something else? Googled bedbugs and looked everywhere that I can think in the bedrooms and and no signs at all (even plugs),rentokil phoning this morning as a bit worried cause some look like bites other spots.Don't think fleas as we have no pets .we stayed in a couple of premier inns few weeks back as I read they can sometimes come home with you from hotels, boiled washed bedding and hoovered mattresses (I know this won't kill them)😥Have even moved into living room to sleep as my daughter terrified. Thanks and posting here for traffic.

Yes you can. I've had them before, was getting bitten for ages before they were finally visible

I woke up the other day with 5 bites down my side. Can’t see any signs of bed bugs but know idea where else they came from. No-one else in the family has had any.

How do you get rid of bed bugs?

I got bitten at an Air BnB apartment a while ago, the place was brand new and spotless and couldn't see any signs of them. I had 6 on my wrist in a pattern of a set of 3 like it shows online and they were the itchiest things ever! I still have scars now. Luckily DP and new baby escaped them so I'm presuming they weren't many of them

Also (I have bad luck!!) when we moved into a house the moving around of furniture and stuff brought up dormant fleas in the carpets from previous tenants. Spent a long time not realising because it was only me getting bitten nobody else!

The bites are very often in rows of three (the bug takes a starter, main and dessert is how it was explained to me!) Also, the bites are incredibly itchy- way more so than mosquito bites, in my experience.

How do you get rid? With difficulty 😕 You might need to call a specialist in to sort your mattress.

Just seen you mentioned rentokil- I’m sure they will be able to sort it for you.

There was an epidemic of them around here for a while. Waterlego is right, the bites are usually in rows of three. I've heard extreme heat is the best way to get rid of them. Companies here will do that for you, but it's expensive and inconvenient; you have to remove all your electronics from the house before they do it, because the heat ruins them. I've seen spray for bedbugs at Lowe's (a home and garden store), but I don't know how well it works. That may be available there.

The companies here that get rid of them have dogs that come in and sniff for them. If you have something similar, maybe you could get them to come in and do a "diagnostic?"

Don’t worry to much it may just be heatlumps. I got them a lot as a kid and now DS does. Especially with the hot weather. I panicked the first time as DS had a row of four on his leg and I thought bedbugs but the pharmacist said heatlumps.

Sorry posted too soon. Then a few days I got them as well, I happened to be at the doctor for something else so I asked and she said heatlumps. We just both happened to get them at the same time

I’ve been a victim of bed bugs. Can you see little traces of blood on your sheets? Rentokil told me that’s another way you can tell it’s them! Buggers they are! They live in wood and paper. Have you got a wooden bed frame? If so, they could be living and laying eggs in there! Angry

If you have got them no shame, they live in the poshest places. But you need to get the professionals in and don't visit anywhere else before you do.
