That's it really, DP and I disagree. Do you park the car in gear or in neutral? Vote needed please !

In gear on a slope. I used to park in neutral but asked around and in gear is best apparently. On the flat always in neutral.

In gear in case your brakes fail.

I was also taught tgat you should turn your wheels to the curb.

If you’re facing uphill, also turn your wheels away from the curb.

I always park in gear, it would feel wrong not to.

In gear, always (slope or otherwise) If the handbrake fails the car won't move.

In first if facing up hill, in reverse if facing down hill.

Always curious about this wheel-into-kerb thing.

In gear.

I used to leave mine in neutral (as I was taught to do by my driving instructor), but had an unfortunate incident where I parked on a slope and the handbreak failed. It was fine when I parked it, but when I returned the car was at the foot of the hill! Thankfully no one was hurt.

Always park in gear with handbrake off at the end of use so handbrake does not bind when the car is sitting for a length of time (ie overnight or longer). When out and about, I use the handbrake and only put it in gear if I am on an incline of any sort.

MrPan if your wheels are pointed into the curb and your brakes fail the car just rolls into the curb.

It’s rare these days of course but it does happen occasionally.

On a slope, normally in gear. Reverse if facing downhill, 1st if facing uphill.
