Nobody knows. Some think it's a self portrait.

She certainly wasn't the most attractive female. Legend has it, that's why she has that 'I know something you don't' smirk.

How interesting, I hadn't come across this.

Is this because they said it in Legends of tomorrow?

That's just a theory, there are plenty of others, even to some rich guys wife he was sleeping with. The odds are that it wasn't him in drag,

If da Vinci says he identifies as the Mona Lisa that’s all that matters.

Apparently the models for all Michaelangelo's statues were male (even the female ones).

Bundlesmads · 25/03/2018 02:10

Really hippee? I would have thought it was the other way round considering the size of David’s little feller.

I tell you what. If you pulled David after a boozy night in Yate’s Wine Lodge you’d be in for a disappointment when he got his keks off.

Nope. Neither urban myth nor true. For it to be an urban myth more than a few idiots need to believe it.

Tartyflette, we’re talking about da Vinci, why have you put up a picture of Santa?

It's Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo. Mona Lisa has also been known as La Gioconda for 400 years, is this actually news to anyone?

I found out yesterday that Marie Antoinette hair DIDNT go white from shock overnight and this is impossible. I’ve told so many people this before !

Report
NFATR · 25/03/2018 03:48

Of course its impossible! How could hair turn white overnight?

My Shock moment about the Mona Lisa was when I saw it in the Louvre.

As DD (then six) said...."Is that it?!" Pretty much summed it up for me! It was the single most underwhelming experience of my life and to this day I dont get the fuss abou it.

I imagine I would be so overcome if I ever saw it in real life, I'd probably scream... Grin

My hair turned white over night...

Well not exactly, but I had sepsis and was very ill for a few weeks and when I recovered I had white roots. It seems that my body shut down all non essential functions to fight the illness. My hair colour did grow back (mostly) but you could see a definite white line in my hair for ages.

LeslieKnopefan · 25/03/2018 05:13

Bitchy yes I read that can happen but of course hair that is already grown can’t change colour. I now understand that 😂

@cocoloco87 that’s a perfectly understandable reaction. Just don’t go scaring any old ladies please

This is one of my pet hates! The artist's name is Leonardo. Vinci is the town he was from - "Da Vinci" means "From Vinci". So calling him "Da Vinci" is like calling me "From Manchester". Hmm

I personally prefer The Mona Ogg by Leonard of Quirm Wink
