I live opposite a football stadium. Purpose built flat. When there’s a match, people always use our shared drive. They can be fined but the private company (not council) who issue the penalties are never here.

I don’t care too much if the odd car nicks a space for a match but what pisses me off is when a brand new Audi or BMW (same culprits I think) take up two spaces, leaving residents with no where to park.
Or today there was a merc parked out there and they filled a bag with rubbish from their car and chucked it on our shared front lawn.
One of the neighbours picked it up and taped it to the windscreen. When the match was over i took a picture of them take it off and throw it back on the lawn. Arseholes.
Then they flipped me the bird as they drove away.

I’ve got their faces and number plates and photos of them throwing the rubbish away.

Will the police care at all about this? Is it too petty? I just hate rich aresholes who think they own the world.
Last week a brand new BMW pulled off their fine (opposite, council owned) and threw it into our front lawn.

It just really fucks me off.

Should I just get over it and drink some wine instead?

I'd want them to be punished. I hate people getting away with that sort of thing.

Can you get a gate for your driveway, or would they block you in?

CatStacks · 24/03/2018 17:11

one of the neighbours picked it up and taped it to the windscreen lol

report to you're council and police. since you taped it I think it comes under a public order offence although they will probably just be fined for littering

RunRabbitRunRabbit · 24/03/2018 17:13

Complain to the football team about the behaviour of their fans.

Complain to the police about fly tipping.

Block the cars in next time.

Huntinginthedark · 24/03/2018 17:13

If you can report it report it. Can you put a fence up. Or just something up on match day. If you go to lots of other places where there are stadiums there is always some form of temporary barrier
Failing that, let down the bastards tyres

Confusedbeetle · 24/03/2018 17:14

Infuriating. The police dont have the resources to chase this. I think I might be tempted to plaster it all over Facebook. Make it hard for them to park in your space if you can, any way to physically make it hard. Send the evidence to the Football stadium, post on fans page etc

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 24/03/2018 17:15

Agree with neighbours in block that you will block twats in on match days

PoisonousSmurf · 24/03/2018 17:15

Scratch their cars! So many vandals around, they'd be so MUCH safer parking elsewhere...

Sweetpea55 · 24/03/2018 17:16

Theres always retaliation,,,,dog shit,,a sharp knife,,nail varnish.

JustVent · 24/03/2018 17:18

No I didn’t think the police would have.

Reporting to the football stadium, good idea!

How easy is it to let down tyres? I’m quite happy to do that!

I used to live near a football stadium in Scotland. It was a total pain in the arse - people would be chucking vodka bottles in the front garden and pissing on the car. It was even worse when matches involved teams whose fans were divided on religious grounds, you just wouldn't leave the house those days.

It's a bloody nightmare but I reckon the police are too busy dealing with fans knocking lumps out of each other to care.

Huntinginthedark · 24/03/2018 17:28

It’s very easy to let down tyres! Just make sure there is no cctv around
But a barrier is probably the best idea! Just a couple of bollards and some rope

Hellywelly10 · 24/03/2018 17:31

Call the parking company.

JustVent · 24/03/2018 17:32

There’s no way we can put a barrier up. The managing agents wouldn’t agree to that, plus the gap is so wide if you opened it out it would block the road and path and if you opened it inwards it would block all the cars/damage them.

OldGuard · 24/03/2018 17:36

On match days can you get all your friends / relatives / work colleagues to come over and park and fill up the space / gap ? That ways WankerCarDrivers can’t park as there is no space

PlumsGalore · 24/03/2018 17:37

Would the rubbish count as fly tipping? Speak to the council about that, our council fines people for throwing a fag end on the floor so they may be up for tracking the CFs over the rubbish.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 24/03/2018 17:37

Report. Ignorant dickheads.

bsbabas · 24/03/2018 17:38

I wouldn't engage could be dangerous especially if they get drunk

Huntinginthedark · 24/03/2018 17:40

Not a permanent barrier
Just a homemade one for the day.
I would probably do some scratching to the car though if I thought I wouldn’t get caught, this is where hoodies come in useful

nancy75 · 24/03/2018 17:42

If they are driving they should t be drunk! Can you/neighbours park so that the football fan cars can’t get out?
You can also get stickers to go in windscreen that say don’t park here. You can’t do anything to actually damage the car but a sticker that’s really hard to get off is fine

TwigTheWonderKid · 24/03/2018 17:43

Definitely speak to the Council re the rubbish. It might be classified as "fly tipping" which attracts a larger fine. Although not sure, if it's on private property, if they have any jurisdiction?

If your drive is always used when there is a match then you definitely should speak to the stadium but also the company who are responsible for policing the parking - presumably it will be worth their while in terms of fine revenue to send some one along on match days adn that will least least deter repeat offenders.

JaneEyre70 · 24/03/2018 17:43

Move. It won't ever change.

ToadsforJustice · 24/03/2018 17:45

Would Enviromental Health or Public Protection/Litter Department of your local council be of any help?

Report to council, football club and managing agents. Local MP, All have a responsibility to help you. Document and photo and keep reeporting. Get other affected residents to join you, facebook group for eg.. so that everyone can report. While you are at it. Get the local estate agents involved since this must be putting off potential buyers in the area. Best of luck. We lived near a very responsible club and they made sure they kept the residents happy.

AlpacaLypse · 24/03/2018 17:47

The fly tipping by itself is making my blood boil. I can't get my head round the mindset of anyone who just chucks their rubbish out of their car.

How many of you are being affected by this cfuckery? Could you arrange between you to do a bit of blocking in on match days? So that bastard drivers have to come knocking at doors to get their cars out again? Which naturally will be at you and your neighbour's convenience not theirs? So after you've finished eating dinner/watching something on telly/whatever?

BlankTimes · 24/03/2018 17:48

Google collapsible bollards.
A lot easier than gates or barriers.
