I think Fairylea is pointing out that Ant and Dec's success is that they are a duo package. Ant has royally fucked up meaning that his actions (Ant) will invariably negatively impact Dec's career.

I think it's time for fresh faces but unless someone has stapled you to the couch and thrown your remote control into the ocean then there's nothing stopping you from avoiding them.

I know what you mean about fresh talent and the same old faces which have been around for 20+ years. That said, I loved Bruce F on Strictly, as well as other experienced tv and radio presenters like Zoe Ball, Alexander Armstrong, Mary Berry, Rhod Gilbert, Jeff Stelling, Gary Lineker, Claudia Winkelman, Graham Norton, Rob Brydon, Jo Whiley, Kirsty Wark - and I think that election night wouldn't be the sane without Dimbleby, so I can't really complain! I also wouldn't want a scenario where presenters routinely were put out to pasture at 40.

On a personal note, I wish Ant the very best.

They're not my cup of tea. I watch very little on ITV because I really don't like the stuff they churn out, all a bit downmarket and mindless. (Quite like the dramas like Endeavour or Vera, but on catchup.)

I do feel sorry for Dec though. His career has been ended/halted through no fault of his own as he is one half of a double act and always has been.

I do think though that it's a fair point that ITV develops new talent - it appears that they have Ant, Dec, Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield on pretty much everything.

Totally talentless pair, how they have got on like they have done is beyond me. I think it was because they are very bland and safe.
Time for a change, theres nothing to stop either of them from going to college and retraining or just looking for other work. Thats what everyone elce has to do when they lose their jobs.
They have made their money both of them and could just live off that for the rest of their lives.
