AIBU?

... to feel ashamed of being Globally represented by Boris&May?

Just that really.

Like most weary Brits, I've been following the playground antics of these two in their desperate bid to turn everyone against Russia.

Their whiny complaints remind me of a child that needs civilizing and being taught a lesson in 'how to get on' with people.

Am I alone in feeling embarrassed at their representation of us otherwise nose-to-the-grindstone Brits?

Absolutely, totally agree with you.

Couldn’t agree more. We must be the laughing stock of the entire world.

Could be worse, could be Corbyn and Watson/McDonnell/Abbott/Thornberry ad infinitum

Thanks, folks. Glad I'm not alone.

I do feel a tad disloyal but the truth of the matter is if my DC was behaving this way, I would have despaired and pulled out all the stops to make them see sense.

Um, using nerve agents to poison two people is the kind of thing it’s reasonable to get a bit pissy about.

Could be worse, we could be cosying up with Corbyn and Milne.

Funny how the angry "left" have been anti russia during Brexit (even though that is and never was a left/right issue), trump and even tentatively linked to conservatives, now it looks really likely they used WMD's in the UK and May etc are standing up to them they have switched sides.

Take your tribalistic political point scoring back to the student forums.

I was shouting at the radio this morning for exactly this. They are making us the laughing stock of Europe and further afield.,

Putin is a weapons grade dick but the comparison with the 1936 Nazi Olympics was shockingly bad. This is not the type of comment we should expect from our top diplomat.

Does Boris not understand the stakes here? Yes this will play well to the Sun readership and other jingoistic types who can’t let WW2 go but it’s embarrassing and has the potential to cause long term harm. Britain is quickly moving from James Bond to Mr Bean territory.

As someone else has already said it could be much much worse - it could be Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott...

i resent your sweeping characterisation of us all as "weary brits" and "otherwise nose to etc".... politics and politicians are no worse than anywhere else... juat because you dont agree with them/comments/policies doesnt mean they are a "global embarrassment"

Are you British? I don’t know anyone who’s British who refers to the British as Brits!

Europe isn't laughing at you, there are many reactions but laughter isn't one of them. Honestly.

YABU. I have no feelings either way. Don't love them, don't hate them.

And

They are no worse than leaders of other countries.

And as has been said, imagine if it were Corbyn, Abbott, and Munroe Bergdorf representing ? Shock

Now THAT would be embarrassing!

I would never be able to show my face outside the UK again.

And they are not 'trying to turn everyone against Russia.' Russia is doing a spectacularly good job of doing that themselves.

Yolo plenty of evidence - enough to persuade Germany and France. Just because it hasn't been emailed to you does not mean it does not exist.

YANBU. Bojo is the least diplomatic politician there is and totally unsuited to the role of Foreign Secretary. Putin is a dangerous man and I have no doubt Russia were responsible for the poisonings, but comparing the country to Nazi Germany is just fanning the flames.

If I were a football fan, I wouldn't be going to the World Cup in the current climate. There was already violence between English and Russian football fans at the last world cup which was on neutral territory and without the antagonism that exists at the moment.

Where is this evidence? CCTV footage, fingerprints, witnesses, suspects, testimony.....where is it? I'd love to know because RN May and Boris are looking like idiots.

Report
MinnieMousse · 22/03/2018 22:09

Actually, it was the Euro championships two years ago where there was violence I think.
