This is a National Scandal

fairplayforwomen.com/scottish_stole_woman/

The Scottish government have redefined the legal meaning of the word "woman". It has now been expanded to include:
"A person who has the protected characteristic of gender reassignment...if, and only if, the person is living as a woman, and is proposing to undergo, is undergoing, or has undergone a process, or part of a process, for the purpose of becoming female

What fucking country do I live in?

I don't have too many objections to someone being classified as a woman if they actually do live as one and are taking the necessary steps to become one. It is the self classification that holds issues for me.

and so it begins. We are starting to lose the word woman. Has there been any definition yet of what "living as a woman" entails? I need to make sure i've been doing it right all these years Angry

Are they changing the definition of male to include living as....etc etc?

I think this is fine.

It doesn't include people who self ID every other day when it suits.

But you cannot "become female". It is totally impossible to change your sex. You can perform femininity and adhere to stereotypes but you cannot change your sex.

You mean all those whiny threads where posters mistakenly thought they were part of some popular and powerful movement failed?

Who'd have thought?

The world really actually has finally gone mad.

Being a woman now is so easy apparently anyone can identify as one.

Well we were always pretty worthless weren’t we so men are just letting us know.

I expect next John worboys will be out, identify as a woman, put in a dress and access his local woman’s changing room with a drugged water bottle.

Yes it does Why. It's Self ID by stealth. There is no requirement for someone to have had surgery or even a GRC

I would also be interested to see if they are redefining the legal meaning of the word 'man'

How thw fuck does a person "live as a woman" ? What does even mean?

Report

It makes a mockery of all statistics relating to women. How can anyone be sure just how many actual biological women are living in the country if the definition is expanded to include those with male biology.

Statistics for women's crimes will be skewed.

This can affect funding for women's cancers, gynaecological issues, women's post partum mental health etc.

Statistics are important and we have separated the sexes especially to make things fair. If "women" suddenly start suffering with prostate cancer or committing rapes, where does it lead?

This is the thin edge of the wedge and I don't understand why it is happening. What is the ultimate outcome - apart from the Erasure of women. Why do they want this?

if they actually do live as one

The things that makes me 'live' as a woman, is the bloating, blood-loss, menopause, osteoporosis, sore tits, backaches, nosebleeds, judgemental comments, threats, potential to be raped etc etc etc...what does 'live as a woman' even mean?

Tweet and email your MSP and ask for a definition?

the person is living as a woman, and is proposing to undergo, is undergoing, or has undergone a process, or part of a process, for thepurpose of becoming female

The person has to be living as their chosen gender and be somewhere along the way of the process of physically changing.

I really think this outcome, although not perfect (let's face It, it was never going to be perfect), is a good balance.

Where did you get the impression that posters thought they were part of a popular and powerful movement? I think most women actually feel quite powerless that a small group of loud men are so successfully erasing us. Top marks for crow-barring the word whiny in to your post though.

No they don't why. They just have to say they are.

The law itself is fine surely. It's "becoming female" that is confusing me - I thought the GRA acknowledged that while someone can get legal recognition as the other sex, they don't actually become that sex.

What kind of human being to you have to be to be gloating that women have lost the means to define themselves?

Where does it say that they just have to say they are?

There had to be some sort of balance with this and I really think they have done their best to get one.

All of the whiny anti-trans threads had posters talking about how everyone they ever met, ever was aghast and horrified etc. When I said that no one I met cared I was called a liar.

There was one whiny thread with some petition or something which made a map change colour. There were a lot of virtual hi-5s when all the posters sent a few letters or answered a questionnaire or something.

fuck this, when a man can give birth, have periods, PMT, the menopause... then they can be a woman.
just cherry picking the pretty stuff does not make them a woman.

Well we were always pretty worthless weren’t we so men are just letting us know.

I think most men probably agree with the opinion that this is ludicrous. It's a fuck up by the people in power, not by men as a whole.

You'd be better off trying to get men on board. I signed the petitions linked to in several threads.
