Ant drunk driving dick

I'm fucked off.
"Celebs" on to this morning, giving support sending best wishes and love. Fuck off.
He has an illness, yes I see that but nobody made him drink and drive.
He had access to a deadly weapon and used it, thankfully nobody got hurt. Should we support him?
Three boys near me were killed by a drunk/drug driver and people are calling for a murder charge.
Just because he is famous I have to sympathise?
He knowingly put others at risk by driving.
He is dick, using his illness as an excuse.

Yanbu at all, my father was an alcoholic and I am well aware it is an illness however if this was anyone else people would not be so sympathetic.

I also think the punishment for drink driving and it's consequences should be more severe. Anyone who kills someone while drink driving should automatically receive a life sentence for murder.

YANBU.

Holly and Phil make me sick. They're so sycophantic. Ant is a drunk with a problem. He's no better than any other alcoholic who needs help.

And why did his mother let him drive? From the footage it looked like he wasn't just slightly tipsy

YANBU ...and Lorraine I'msobloodyannoying Kelly, (who took the trophy for being one of the first to come out in support of dear Ant).

No sympathy at all for him with regards the drunk driving BUT

I've thought for a long time that he was being pushed, by the media, into some sort of a spectacular crisis. Once they knew he was seeking help for a drug problem (that really was none of our business) they appear to have been circling him like sharks. Why the constant hounding of him, and his wife, speculating about his marriage? It must be awful to have to live like that and it seems like a terrible inevitability to all of this. The press weren't going to let up until something like this happened.

The car accident was dreadful but I hope that this is his rock bottom and thankfully no one was hurt. Maybe now he can be left to recover and re build his life.

Has he definitely been charged with drunk driving? Only I've not seen that anywhere else?

Oh God, the Holy Trinity that is Holly, Phil and Ant&Dec. So smug and nauseating. Enough said.

He was arrested at the scene for failing breathalyser, he should be charged. He probably won't be.
National treasure and all that.
Victims will probably be paid off and everyone will be told to move on.

I think that’s exactly what will happen! ^

You can have a crisis, you can have mental health and substance abuse problems but it’s arrogance that puts you behind the wheel of a car. No sympathy at.all... all the gushing going on is nauseating.

Even if he killed someone it would still be poor ant Confused

My money is on him being charged with XSA if he blew in the evidential machine and was over or refusing it if he refused to blow in it. National treasure or not. There have been enough celebs charged with drink-driving to establish that.

Totally agree OP. I have sympathies for his obvious mental health issues that he has, but there's no excuse for driving home drunk and risking lives.

If he hadn't have been famous everyone would have responded very differently.

YANBU.

Cannot stand the smug lot on ITV and drink driving penalties need to be extremely harsh.

Yes. Sadly Ant is a 24K toss pot.

His mum is his mum, not a gladiatorial body guard and general moral arbiter for him.
And I think you mean Dec may be "pissed off", not just pissed.

But yes, a thread asking people to reach for their pitchforks, safe in the knowledge no-one on the thread has behaved stupidly, ever. The GBP, and MN, can be ignorant and pretty shit from time to time.

Jail sentences should be mandatory. I have posted my experience of drunk driving elsewhere but will post again. A minibus full of 7 year olds off to swimming and a drunk ploughed into them at 70 in a 30 zone. He was paralytic. My school friend and another child was killed, other children badly injured some with life changing injuries. The young driver of the minibus in her 20’s was left paralysed. All those families suffered. I can’t remember the fate of the drunk driver as it was over 30 years ago and I was just 7 myself.

That boy was so sweet and lovely and looked like an angel and I will always remember his beautiful nature. Anyone who gives it ‘oh poor Ant’ maybe should see his mother following the loss of her only child, i hope she knows that he is remembered.

That is so sad fluffy. I have sympathy for addicts but not those who hop in a car. He has the means to have 24/7 drivers at his beck and call.

Do wind your neck in OP. This is the eleventy thousandth thread on something that allegedly happened, there have not been any charges brought (yet) let alone a trial or conviction.

It's like knitting round the guillotine for some. Never happy unless you are saving and sticking the boot in.

Social media really has a lot to answer for. Give some one half a fact and they jibber jabber making up the rest of the story.

My dd and her friends were very badly injured by a driver who fell asleep at the wheel of their coach. Life changing injuries and fatalities.

I don’t hate the driver actually I feel sorry for him.

I think these threads are horrible actually. It’s a tragedy for all concerned.

Some of the glee at the complete implosion of someone’s life on this thread and the others on mumsnet about Ant are absolutkry disgusting.

Dare I pass judgement about small snippets people give on their own lives but I'm not surprised there is a large element of some posters who cannot hold down a realtionship with anyone, be that extended family, friends or partners, because they are pure poison to the core.

Sorry. XSA is jargon for [driving with] excess alcohol.

This slob's problem is shortage of blood in the alcohol stream!
