Wwyd about tv?

I have two children 9yo and 2.5yo.

The 2.5yo has got into watching tv.

The problem is now that they both want their programmes on at certain times of the day, this is in the morning and after school/nursery.

The trouble is I sort of need to sit my 2yo in front of the tv so I can get ready for work in the morning. He's really tired after nursery and again, I need to get on and make dinner. He doesn't want to play because he's had a busy day at nursery.

Only it's completely not fair on my eldest who is used to having his tv time.

If I put my 9yo programmes on then the little one walks about screaming and we don't get any peace.

The most immediate solution I can see is having a tablet/phone (in a child proof case) for the younger one to watch their programmes on. Or vs versa. The older one might not mind giving up his tv time if he gets to use a device.

Otherwise choose the times you want to use the tv for your younger one and explain to the 9yr old that their sibling gets tv during those times but they can choose what to watch before/after.

I would never have imagined that the answer to tv arguing would be to provide a second tv option. I'd be inclined to say that it was 9yo's turn or 2 yo's turn and it is tough that they can watch their preferred things for x amount of time then change channel.
