Just that. Up to bf little one and polished off a giant treat size bar of dairy milk. Think I've left 2 rows. This is my second one. I had one after my dinner :(

Its awful. I feel like i 'need' to finish it. Even before having lo, i would wake up at night for a midnight feast .

I really need to lose weight but its so hard. Im either all or nothing when it comes to diets and so afraid of affecting my milk supply. :(

I feel your pain. I simply can’t keep chocolate in the house, or I have to eat it. I’m not proud of that, but it’s how it is. Be kind to yourself! Flowers

I get like that sometimes and other days I don't want anything to eat at all. Best advice is if you don't buy it you can't eat it. Stock the fridge with healthy snacks and get rid of the junk x

I'm the same! If I had chocolate here now I'd have finished it all, but I don't, because I don't buy it! Like others have said just don't buy it. I substitute it for the chocolate special k bars - not ideal as they're not absolutely healthy but they're a lot better for you, less calories than chocolate bars and they fill the need when the cravings kick in!

Don't keep chocolate in the house, or if you must, keep only the ones with 85 % cacao.

And, as said, don't ever, ever have a giant treat size bar of dairy milk chocolate in the house. They're balanced with exactly the right proportions of cacao, sugar, and fat to make you eat it all in one go!

Just don't buy them Smile.
Or buy them infrequently.

Based on my experience of doing exactly the same thing you are doing! Flowers

I know where you're coming from. I've been running on less than 3 hours of broken sleep a night for almost a year now and have ended up replacing the sleep with chocolate. The health implications worry me but how the heck are you supposed to keep going?

You can wean yourself off this OP. But don't try and do it all in one go. Try it in stages, otherwise the craving for the chocolate will be worse if you try to go cold turkey.

Firstly, don't buy the big slabs. I am not in UK so I am not sure what a giant treat size is, but I will assume its a slab. So next time, buy that chocolate you like, but in a smaller size, but buy one. And then look for some chocolate bars that have cereal in or similar. I wont say brand names here as you may not get them there, but the muesli bar type of thing with chocolate on top. If its the sugar you are craving, then this sort of thing might just work. I know it sounds silly, but while you are eating it, think of it that you are eating is the chocolate you really prefer.

I had a very big problem when I was a bit younger with drinking lemon water. I know it is all the rage again now, but this did quite a lot of damage to me. For years it was the only thing that I would drink, and it resulted in me losing all the enamel off my teeth, as well quite serious stomach issues, peptic ulcer and now severe ibs. I had to stop drinking it, but silly as it seems as its really a healthy thing, I was horribly addicted. I even got help for it as I would be in a foul mood if I couldn't have any etc. So what I was told was to just drink plain water, then think (but you have to focus) that what you are drinking is the lemon water. I wont say it was an overnight cure, it took a little time, first I tried lukewarm water, then cold water, just a few different ways, and after a while it really did work. There is so much lemon water options available now, every now and then I am tempted to grab one off the shelf, but then I put it back every time. I know it isn't the same, but I can relate as you feel like you have lost all your willpower to this thing that can fit into your hand. So just cutting it all out just in one go, I don't think will be the easiest option. So little by little, just be aware of how its makes you feel AFTER you have eaten it (as you most certainly do not get that same feeling BEFORE you do).

Good luck OP. Please tell your dh/partner about this, so he can help you with this. If someone else is buying the items, they are enabling in way without even knowing.

It’s the bfing and lack of sleep. I’m have a 2mo and a 3yo and I am eating like a horse. Whatever calories bfing is supposed to use up, I’m fairly confident that I’m consuming them and then some. Need to get my arse in gear really.

I don’t have chocolate in the house or I’d probably devour it too.

Why not have smaller bar of green and black 70% dark chocolate or similar? Like you I can easily Polish off a big bar of milk chocolate but I don't like dark choc as much. Having some in the house to scratch the itch means I wnot go on a rampage. It's also better for you!!

Thanks folks. On feed 2 of the nigbt. Or first of the morning depending on how you look at it.

Lo is 6 months old. I swear bf is probably ehats stopping me from.being 4 stone heavier :(

Ill ask oh to get me chocolate and lots of it. This will be bause theres none in the house. Then he returns with the giant slabs as they are on special offer.

Occasionally we have buscuits in for guests... they dnt last long either :(

Ive heard slimming worlds suppossed to be good. I did try it once n felt like i was at an AA meeting. I am cooking things from scratch now so will probably be more suited to it now. I dont have money to go tho and cant remember the principles. Though im pretty sure chocolate isnt included :(

You can buy the SW books off eBay. They have all the info in them.

Personally, I hated SW and WW, but then I’ve been overweight (just a tiny bit, but still), since I had dc1, so don’t listen to me Grin!

Well if it's Cadburys the slabs aren't as chunky as they used to be, imo, they're a bit flatter so you aren't eating as much as you think.
I started buying crisps which also aren't good for you but are munchy and nice to eat and more filling imv.

First step is here Catlady.

When I look back at photos, the heaviest I ever was, was when dd was nearly a year old. It takes a lot of adjustment having a baby, and the cycle of eating what you can when you can (as in when you have a moment free, so just grab something quick) does spiral a bit. It does get easier, hang in there. In the meantime, try to focus on you a little bit.

I had a very sweet tooth growing up.
I haven't touched chocolate for about 10 years now....I stopped buying it. Ditto biscuits and cake.
However cheese is my downfall.

This is why I don't buy them too, OP. I buy a treat bag instead, eg twix bites, and count how many I have at a time.

Before I had my first, I would eat a bag at one sitting. But then I got gestational diabetes - and now the fear of what I am doing to my blood sugar makes me stop after a handful. I don't know whether thinking of something like that would help you?
