It will be the fifth date, he's coming here to cook dinner and whatever else.......

Would you dress down or wear a nice dress and heels?

I’ve dressed up in this situation - feels nice to get ready properly for a date and has always been appreciated!

Ye, I hope it would be appreciated! Now my dilemma is unsightly tights underneath it whenever you know lol.

I'd definitely dress up! You'll feel good and he'll appreciate the effort - he should do anyway.

M&S opaque hold ups are practical and sexy.... 😉

I'd wear a dress. It wouldn't occur to me to wear shoes inside the house.

Too late to get to an M&S now. Date is tomorrow and nearest one that I know of is an hour on a bus. Plus, they always seem to fall off me as I've skinny legs.
Will have to have a gander for hold ups in the future - assuming a 6th date ensues!

Nice dress yes, but tottering round my own home in a pair of heels would feel odd.

Wear the heels! You can always take them off.

Well I've worn heels with jeans on another date and he complimented me. It feels odd to me too lol. Teetering about when I'm usually in flip flops haha

Now - nude or black heels with a bright red dress?

This is the dress.

Dress up definitely but wearing heels would be a bit weird unless you usually wear shoes around the house? Plus if you have laminate or wooden floors you may damage them.

Thinking about it, it was about my 5th date (with now DH) when I cooked for him at my house. What is it about 5th-dates that makes that the thing?

Thanks snowsky. Photo doesn't really do it justice. It's not a flimsy fabric as it looks in the pic. Glad heels aren't completely ruled out. Ye, was thinking black shoes too.

Black shoes.

But it's entirely your choice. Your home, your date, you set the atmosphere as casual or formal as you want. I'd be in the flipflops, personally.

Really weird to wear heels in your own house (though I’m starting to find heels a bit ridiculous generally). Sexy dress and no shoes would be about right, I reckon.

Disclaimer.. haven’t been on a date in about 15 years, and feeling comfortable would be a high priority!

Painted toes, nice feet.
