AIBU?

to ask how MN users can be so stupid about Trans women?

Why are trans women and men put into the same category? As if trans women are accepted by men. In a world where men are constantly try to look the most “manliest” do you honestly think that transwomen are accepted into this

They are in the same biological category. How is that hard to understand?

Because they ARE men,
a sub set of man does not make a woman

Posted to soon.

Do you honestly think that a biological male would try to transition into a female if they didn’t absolutely feel that it would rectify their gender dysphoria? A male who was happy in his body would feel too embarrassed or ashamed to do something that other men would view as ridiculous like transitioning into a female.

Do you seriously feel that this vulnerable minority group is a threat?

Do you really think that all the men who view themselves as “manly” would lower themselves to dress as a woman just to peep at women in bathroom stalls? Do you really think that would happen?

Do people honestly think bathroom rape would become a thing if vulnerable trans people are allowed to shit in the same space as you?

Do you seriously feel the need to fill this site with hatred daily under the pretence of caring about womens rights?

Do you even know one trans person?

ConfessionsOfTeenageDramaQueen give me an example of a time a trans person has personally “eroded” your space and stole your voice.

They are male. What's stupid is pretending that anyone not masculine is aa non man. We all know they are male. Just because they don't fit social norms of manliness doesn't make then female.

Not sure i understand, sorry. Some mn users ARE transwomen. Others of us have trans friends, colleagues or relatives... you can be anti-self ID and still compassionate to those suffering from gender dysphoria. The two things are mutually compatible.

twinkletoedelephant Do you understand gender dysphoria, which is recognised by medical practitioners?

If you think all trans-identified people have gender dysphoria or want/plan to physically transition, you’re quite behind the times I’m afraid. (And also a TERF, welcome to the club!)

Oh right. You are just jumping to incorrect conclusions.

Never mind. You aren’t interested in hearing from genuine people with transwomen in their personal circles. You just want an excuse to yell transphobe and bigot. Sure. Whatevs. Crack on.

Absolutely, yes I do. Considering some men are perfectly happy to rape, murder, imprison kidnap and mutilate women to get their kicks, I don’t see why the idea of them putting a frock on is so far fetched.

You asked why they’re put in the same category. Very simply, they are both biologically male.

The question should be, why are some so insistent that transwomen and biological women should both be categorised as ‘women’? Or, why are men allowed to now categorise themselves as women just by saying they are?

Curiosity I think you’ve misunderstood.

Under the legislation we are mainly talking about on these threads nobody need dress like a lady in order to claim to be trans.

There is no shame involved no problem from other men no anything other than just claiming on that day your a woman whilst referring to yourself as Brian

OP you are right. I don’t think a man would do those things unless he was desperate and unhappy in his body.

But I do think that some will take advantage of being able to compete in women’s sport and win unfairly.

That’s the bit that concerns me.

Since men are happy to rape, murder, imprison kidnap and mutilate women anyway, why do you think having a door with “female” on it would stop them, it’s a door not a magical forcefield. The only people that would be affected by this are the innocent trans people who DON’T want to rape you

OP I think a lot of the concern from women is that self ID means transwomen will not have to transition and therefore there is no safeguarding against men without gender dysphoria self IDing into women’s spaces.

So when you speak about “vulnerable trans people”, they’re not the issue. They have used women’s toilets for years. But self ID changes the game.

When I breastfeed my baby I’ve been told not to call it breastfeeding but chestfeeding.
I shouldn’t mention periods in case I trigger someone.
I should think of myself as a pregnant person rather than a pregnant woman.
I should feel comfortable getting changed next to someone with a penis.
I should encourage my lesbian friends to have sex with dick.
Shall I continue???

The thing is if I'm in need of a women's refuge and a tranwomen is there I would leave. It wouldn't matter to me If they have gender dysphoria or not, they are still male and as likely to assault me as any male.

Because if I see somebody identifiably male in there I know they are up to no good and can take steps to protect myself.

You're behind the times. You don't even need to shave your beard off, never mind wear a dress, to identify as a woman any more. Google Danielle Muscato.

Not many of us ever minded sharing with the old-skool transsexuals. Live and let live. That is no longer the world.
