My oh has taken the day off to catch up on jobs. This morning we did a bit of diy, and then we've been in the garden for a couple of hours ( general tidy up, hedge cutting, getting ready for spring )
Anyways I come in make us a cup of tea, take both teas in front room. He comes in with a dinner plate with 2 slices of cake sat on it . He then starts to drink his teas whilst eating his cake holding the plate ( like you do ) not offering me the other piece. So i'm beginning to think maybe they are both his but really thinking ignorant fucker - give me my bit. He finishes his then passes me mine and is amazed that I'm pretty pissed off by now !!

For info cake was homemade boozy Xmas cake ! Lol. ( I make a big one to last ages )

McDougalMcPhee Thu 22-Feb-18 14:27:18

so not funny - just annoying

Theglobe Thu 22-Feb-18 14:28:13

‘Pass me that slice of cake or are you going to scoff the lot!’. Or were you just looking for a reason to be pissed off?

OakIsBetterTho Thu 22-Feb-18 14:29:23

Why wouldn't you ask him to pass you the other piece? He sounds like a weirdo tho.

Thistlebelle Thu 22-Feb-18 14:29:24

Use your words.

If you want something ask for it.

Sirzy Thu 22-Feb-18 14:29:30

“Where’s my cake?” Would have been a better response than getting angry surely?

DietCokeGirrrrrl Thu 22-Feb-18 14:29:56

Life is too short to be pissed off about something SO TINY. Why didn't you just ask for your bit, or take it from the plate?

pinkdelight Thu 22-Feb-18 14:30:49

Why didn't you take it? Don't you communicate? How bizarre.

Lovesagin Thu 22-Feb-18 14:30:54

I couldn't get even slightly worked up about this.

purplelass Thu 22-Feb-18 14:34:49

I'd have just said 'gonna share that?' rather than letting it get to me.

Don't really understand why you got annoyed at all to be honest...

isseywithcats Thu 22-Feb-18 14:37:03

i wouldnt even have asked if he brought two pieces of cake in i would have just grabbed one off the plate and said ooh ta very much, but then my Oh would have asked me if i wanted a piece of cake before he got some anyway

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 Thu 22-Feb-18 14:38:54

Why would you just sit there watching and getting more and more pissed off?

Surely you’d just ask for your bit confused At least that’s what I’d do if it was me and my DH.

GrannyGrissle Thu 22-Feb-18 14:40:20

Do you only own one plate OP? Dinnertime must be tiresome.

WunWegWunDarWun Thu 22-Feb-18 14:43:42

No I wouldn't be the slightest bit pissed off because of just have taken my piece. What an odd thing to stew over.

Namethecat Thu 22-Feb-18 14:44:15

Lol no own plenty of plates. Guess it was just me having a ' moment ' all ok now ( with cake inside me !)

APontypandyPioneer Thu 22-Feb-18 14:49:39

Now, if he ate both pieces of cake I would say you've every right to be mad.

He didn't he just put them on one plate, not sure what the issue is. Either way, communication is important. It's good to talk as the saying goes.

Originalfoogirl Thu 22-Feb-18 14:50:10

If you wanted the cake, take the cake. I'd be amazed that you were pissed off too. How long did it take him to eat the cake? Can't have been more than a few minutes. What a bizzare thing to be annoyed about.

falsepriest Thu 22-Feb-18 14:53:24

Slow day on AIBU isn't it...

user1495390685 Thu 22-Feb-18 14:55:01

I do that to save on the washing up! Never knew it would annoy the other person blush

TheFirstMrsDV Thu 22-Feb-18 14:55:40

What? confused

italiancortado Thu 22-Feb-18 14:55:43

You are pissed off because he ate his piece of cake before passing you yours? Surely that was literally seconds, a minute tops? Unless his slice of cake was the size of your house!

I swear some people must be fucking miserable all day long. What an existence.

battenbergbutterfly Thu 22-Feb-18 14:57:47

Why have you really laughed out loud at the type of cake?

Pseudousername Thu 22-Feb-18 15:02:20

A trending AIBU with a leading title... was expecting much, much more from this thread.

MrsExpo Thu 22-Feb-18 15:03:13

That's so not a problem I can't even be bothered to reply ......

......oh ..... hang on ...... grin
