I think it’s lovely and if your going to be rude and silly about it just call them Michael and George

Cute, and nice names anyway. Big GM fan here!

It took me a minute to work out what the objection could be.

Not everyone was a fan and would automatically make that association, especially younger people and certainly not by the time that the twins go to school.

Aside from that childhood is a short period in life, after that they will be living separately and the names won't be said together. The names won't be put together even in school, either,.

Well, lots of people will comment and think it's funny, even those who think George and Michael are perfectly lovely names. But I agree with Booboo that it might be politic to call them Michael and George.

I know someone who almost called her twins Arthur and Martha Hmm

Surely people would say "George and Michael" or if exclaiming would say "George! Michael!" So it doesn't sound like George Michael? At least it's not Fred & George. No escaping that Harry Potter link.

Elton and John would also be a nice combo.

But I like George and Michael better. Are they big fans then?

If someone shouted George Michael in the park i'd think of George Micheal (of George Micheal fame) and then Arrested Development.

DSHathaway - If someone said Fred and George it wouldn't make me think of anything, as i have no idea about harry potter or any of the characters. So there are some people escaping it!

I know brothers called Jack and Daniel. they think it's quite cool.

Jack and Danny is slang for Fanny.

No escaping that Harry Potter link. Totally escaped me.

I was expecting it to be Topsy and Tim.

I think it's a bit strange. Is she a big fan??

I absolutely don't have two cats called Fred and George and a bunny called Ginny Blush

BadTasteFlump · 20/02/2018 11:54

Well they're both nice names so why not? Although yes I would feel a wally shouting 'George! Michael!' across the park Grin

Lovely names and I used the one for my son.

Why strange or funny? Just because a dead pop star had both names? So what

YABU. Reminds me of Peter Pan. Lovely 'normal' names. Also, they aren't your children so your opinion on their names doesn't matter one jot.

My two are called Sam and Eleanor. Family names chosen before they were born. We say them the other way round so pathetic people don't have ammo for the food poisoning thing.

whos fred and george?

anyway just call them michael and george if u feel funny about it

TieGrr · 20/02/2018 12:03

Michael will probably end up being shorted to Mike or Mikey by most people anyway.

At least they are not rhyming names.
Just call them 'Michael and George' and there's no problem.

I stopped myself from giving my kids Harry Potter names because, well, they're not pets.

I have met twins called Tate and Lyle. Which was a new one on me because as a twin Mum I thought I'd heard them all.

Somebody i know has twins called Cassius and clay ...

Why does it have to be george first .. could be Michael and george?... cute, mahoooosive gm fan though.
Probably be shortened to geogrgie and mikey which i think is really cute also.
If i would have been blessed with twin boys i would of named them peter and Andre,
girls : miranda and heart,
girl/boy: sonny and cher or Elton & Kiki ! WinkGrin

JOKING !!!
