AIBU?

Not to wear knickers in bed?

Not a thread about a thread, as such, but I was very struck by someone on another thread talking about her old bed kickers (as in knickers she wears in bed, not as in knickers worn by her bed). I would have thought it was thoroughly unreasonable to wear knickers of any description in bed (unless they are the type that leads to Things), but AIBU?

If I don’t wear knickers or shorts to bed I feel like I’m going to piss myself.

Chips that's made me laugh out loud.

Why do you want to know if women wear knickers to bed?

Really? That's what you want to know?

FissionChips what? That’s really odd.

I generally don’t wear anything on my bottom half in bed, neither knickers or pj bottoms/shorts. I find it really uncomfortable. Just a big tshirt style nightie for me.

I would absolutely never wear anything on the bottom in bed unless it was the time of the month, I find it so uncomfortable.

Yanbu! My mum taught me that you to let things air out down there

Curious to know why you think it's a) unreasonable, b) any of your business.

As a general rule, I try not to dictate what other people do in their own bedroom, but obviously you feel differently.

I'm struck by many things on MN threads but whether women wear knickers in bed has never been one of them! Nothing dodgy about this at all.

Can't do emoji things, but I would be doing a "crying with laughter" one if I could @FissionChips.

Bluntness: I have to say it's not something I have ever spent any time thinking about before now. I just idly wondered when I read about the bed-knickers.

My nana always said that knickers in bed will make germs. She also made us drink cod liver oil though.

I don't if wearing pj bottoms but I will wear them if its a nightie. I just feel more comfortable that way for some reason.

I always thought it was incredibly unhygienic to bed also much more uncomfortable, So no YANBU to not wear knickers to bed.

Um, Chowmum, I hope you aren't seriously thinking that I actually regard it as my business. Nobody has to tell me. I'm not sure I'm dictating to anyone, either. As I say, idle curiosity when I should be doing paperwork...

I would be freezing if I didn’t wear anything in bed! I always wear knickers plus pyjamas in bed. At the moment it’s so cold I wear two pairs of pyjamas and thick socks.

I don’t want a wedgie in bed, or thrush so I don’t wear knickers!

Good to get an airing at least occasionally. Not so good for other reasons it seems...I recently read that how often you launder you bedding should depend on how many layers of clothing you wear to bed. Sweat, secretions and farted particles add to bed debris and bacteria. Oh yes.

It seems pants better than no pants...who knew!

Your bed, your choice. I like to sleep naked and feel a bit icky sleeping in knickers, but I always take some -and a nightie- when I stay away from home. I have a few pairs of older but still in good condition knickers for this reason. I like an airing!

I always think how embarrassing it would be if there was a fire and I had to climb out of the bedroom window down a fireman's ladder with no knickers on.
There might not be time to locate any.

I wouldn't dream of wearing undies in bed

Why do you want to know if women wear knickers to bed?

Lots of thread about MNers wearing bras in bed, so why not knickers?

FYI neither, but am small of nork and don't get get why you'd need knickers, except to catch menstrual drippy bits.

Just pants, nothing else, and I make sure they're clean, cotton and comfy. I don't have specific bed knickers, just a clean pair from the drawer, OP!
I couldn't wear anything else to bed- too hot, too crumpled and not conducive to skin cuddles!

I wear nothing n bed, just maybe socks if it's very cold.I think the fireman has probably seen it all.

I guess it varies for me. If i get out of my day clothes at bed time i get in naked..or just in loose pj bottoms. But if ive showered mid-evening i put on clean undies and pjs cause i feel wrong lounging about downstairs pant-less and usually just get into bed like this. More often than not i shower in a morning though so "majority of the time" i sleep without pants.

I always wear loose-fitting knickers and PJ bottoms in bed. Mainly because I can't be bothered to wash my PJs or sheets daily. I'd never wear the same knickers two nights running so wouldn't do the same with PJs/bedlinen if they'd been in contact with genitals.

Also I like to be prepared just in case there's a fire or some other emergency that involves leaving the house! Or if the postman comes early. My PJs are just tshirts and baggy leggings so I don't feel awkward in them.
