So I'm 9 weeks pregnant after a few early losses last year, and I had a scan on the 10th Feb that showed a healthy baby with a heartbeat. Yesterday and today however, I've had brownish red discharge... Nowhere near enough to fill a pad (it's only when I wipe) and no clots. So why do I feel so hopeless and like 'it's all over'? Got doctors this morning to ask for an epu referral as they won't see me without one. I'm so so so worried :(

You feel so hopeless because you’re terrified of going through that immense heartache again. I’m so sorry for your previous losses. They always make you more sensitive to changes and possible problems in pregnancy.

Small amounts of bleeding are normal for some people. I bled on and off with my daughter throughout my pregnancy and, like you, I was terrified with each drop of blood.

Get yourself checked out to reassure yourself. I know that nobody can say anything to take that worry away until you’ve had a scan or been examined. If you get any pain or bleed enough to go through a pad, skip the referral and go straight to the hospital.

I feel your pain, I really do. Xx

I have no cramps as such, but I do have intermittent backache. I want this baby so badly, and just feel like it's gonna be taken away from me. I was stupid enough to tell my son after the scan at 8 weeks too, so dreading it being bad news for that reason as well. Thanks for the reply, glad your bleeding turned out to be nothing.

I had bleeding on and off for 22 weeks with a positive outcome so it could be OK. Please be gentle with yourself either way. Hope you can be seen quickly x X

So sorry to hear that. Try and defer misery until you actually know there is a problem though...I spent my entire pregnancy dreading the inevitable for no reason as I had a healthy baby in the end. I know its very much easier said than done. I was so so jealous of the women who had no doubts and no fear who actually found time to enjoy it...but that is all part of the curse of having had prior miscarriages.

Sorry you're going through this, OP. I've never experienced a miscarriage so I cannot even begin to imagine the stress you're going through but please try to be kind to yourself and try not to imagine the worst. Will be thinking of you this morning Thanks

Well, doctor has tried to get me into the EPU, apparently the soonest they can see me is Thursday at an antenatal clinic. Also have blood in my urine but no infection, so that's fabulous 😭

OP in one pregnancy, I experienced several huge bleeds and each time (up until 20ish weeks), presented at EPU. When they scanned, all was well, although of course it was horribly stressful. Flowers for you xx

Posted too soon. It is a horrible feeling, take care and rest if you can. Try to distract yourself if possible. Thurs is a long way off. You could turn up at our EPU, but not sure if possible everywhere. Sorry that you are going through this. Xx

user it's not big bleeds, it's more of steady drips, tbh there's barely anything and had I not miscarried before I'd probably not worry too much. Just feels all too familiar :(

No its got to be the hospital I'm booked it at, as the nearest one after that is in a separate County :(

Oh op. Sending lots of Flowers and hugs

I can't imagine what the wait is doing to you. And I can't believe you can't get seen any earlier!

Try not to let your mind race ahead (I know easier said than done). I had a bit of brownish bleed with dc2. And after three mc I was nervous as hell. Try to look after yourself. I'm so sorry you're going through this Flowers

I was told to go straight to a&e when I was bleeding, could that be an option so that you have answers sooner?

No, I'm not okay, definitely definitely not okay... But I'll get through this like I got through the last. Don't ever see me putting myself through this again :(

loudest I can't I'm afraid as I'm alone with my son, and there is no one to have him whilst I get checked out I'm afraid, so I'll have to self care at home and hope I don't haemorrhage.

Take him with you. I'm fairly certain that you can present at any epu and they'll see you, especially with bleeding.

So sorry you're going through this. Flowers

Whereabouts are you? If I'm close, I'd be happy to sit in the waiting room with your ds while you got checked.

FuckMyUterus · 20/02/2018 07:55

loudest I'm in the Midlands, I've just rang my GP they can't see me today, and the EPU won't see me without a referral, so I rang A&E and they said wait time is estimated at 7hrs at the moment unless it's a true emergency, and that they have no one available to scan me anyway
