Her DF needs to have a chat.

2 weeks! That’s madness!!

How old is she? It does sound like a really stupid idea for a lot of reasons, but if she is an adult then she has the right to make her own (stupid) decisions.

Fuck. No.

No matter how old she is, trying to conceive a child with someone you've only known a couple of weeks is a terrible idea.

Bet she doesn't even know his shoe size never mind whether he is a good egg yet!!

Unless she's 45 and this is the last chance saloon (and even that's stretching it), she's crazy.

25 but very naive IMO.

This will be the biggest mistake of her life!!!!

Report
PsychoPumpkin · 18/02/2018 21:58

That would be really really silly.

Report
iBiscuit · 18/02/2018 21:59

What is her reasoning? Confused

Report
formerbabe · 18/02/2018 21:59

It's madness to even consider such a thing.

Ridiculous idea, she doesn’t even know if it’s safe to have unprotected sex with this virtual stranger, he could have all sorts of STIs let alone try and have a baby

DSD don’t be daft this man sounds like an idiot, who suggests such a crazy idea to someone after two weeks - two weeks isn’t even a relationship, it’s barely even dating

Report
glitterbiscuits · 18/02/2018 22:01

Don’t do it! If he loves you, he will wait

Report
madein1995 · 18/02/2018 22:01

Very very daft of her. Maybe having a calm chat with her (both you and her DF). No arguments, shouting etc, just a calm adult discussion. Do it in a few days time when things are settled and she's in a good mood. Prepare for her arguments/reasons - 'I love him' etc etc. Make her think about the practicalities, no reason not to wait. Try and get her to consider whether a decent/genuine man would be asking her to try for a baby after only 2 weeks.

I would actually be concerned that he has some kind of impregnation fetish.

Report
BrieAndChilli · 18/02/2018 22:02

There’s only a couple of scenarios I can think of (no sane normal man would want a baby with someone they barely know!!)

He’s a control freak and wants to get her pregnant so she will be tied to him and less likely to leave him

He’s not British? And wants a visa based on the fact he has a child in the UK?

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 18/02/2018 22:03

red flags right there...does she know about red flags?

Report
Dolphincrossing · 18/02/2018 22:04

Maybe she wants to recreate the loving mother relationship she clearly has with you Hmm

Cheesenacho123 · 18/02/2018 22:05

I’m 23, I was 21 when I got pregnant the only difference was I’d been with my boyfriend for 6 years, my mum still went ballistic at me. Someone you’ve only known a couple weeks isn’t the right person to have a baby with just yet. No judging, he might be a great father but you honestly don’t know a person until you’ve lived with them for a long time. Just think about what your doing! You think your mum doesn’t understand, she does! She may not give the advice you want to hear, but she’ll always be right!

She is 25 and has "asked" if she can come off the pill? Who has she asked and why?

Report
AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 18/02/2018 22:05

Is her life's ambition to be a single parent?

If not, she's mad

There are a lot of people who will do the thing that their step-mum tells them is crazy, just on principle. Not sure this thread will help.

But yes. Coming off the pill to ttc should not be done this soon in a relationship. I know nothing of this man but his actions in asking this suggest that he is not to be trusted.
