AIBU?

AIBU to think you can't 'easily make 2k in 2 weeks' (lighthearted)

Just to be clear - this is in NO WAY a poor me begging thread, this is about a friend.

Was chatting yesterday about what would be like to win the lottery and how we'd spend it, then Friend says she's doing alright for herself at the moment because alongside her part time job she's making 2k every 2 weeks from her own 'projects'. She assured me these are legal things, but then went all coy about what she's actually doing, only saying it takes little time, and little investment.

Am I right to be afraid that she's going to try and recruit me for one of these MLM schemes?! It seems like the kind of bollocks the deluded bots would claim. Building up the excitement by being coy then selling it as The Dream.

Because for the life of me I can't think of any way you could easily make 2k in 2 weeks alongside another job, with little time and investment. And if friend HAS found this mythical beast, AIBU to be sulky she's not sharing this precious Holy Grail info? Grin Some friend. Huff.

Is she an escort or webcam girl?

Uh-oh, sounds like MLM to me!

You’re wrong. I know a really easy way to make 2k without mlm schemes

Forgive my naivety - would that be classed as legal @strawberrysparkle?
In the meantime, I'll be over here, in my sheltered existence Grin

It could be a new MLM recruiting strategy, or she could be doing matched betting. I'd give that a go if I had the faintest chance of understanding how it worked.

I bring home a little more than the every two weeks, but that's just my salary, not an extra project.

You could do it if you were a high stakes gambler or were playing the stock market, but you'd have to have a lot of money at risk to make that sort of profit and be lucky too. Not reliable at all.

My husband made 2k gross before all deductions in 2 weeks but it was a one off, however even after all deductions and taxes it was a nice bonus for something he loved to do.

forgot about matched betting. I've fancied it before but cannot get my head around it, sigh. Not for me, that one.

@NEA I stand corrected. But only if you elaborate Grin. Promise not to steal the idea and do it myself, honest.

I thought of selling things maybe but doesn't seem sustainable.

Sorry, should have clarified - I meant as not part of a salary, this is on top of her part-time job and not overtime with work or anything.

Pretty sure both are legal as long as you don't sleep with them!

Yeah, but I might get it wrong like, 8/10 times and if I do, I don’t get anything. So not quite as ludicrous. And yeah, I give it a week before you get the Facebook message from your friend!
